Most used feature in OB. So yes...it has a point, it has allways had a point.

Holding A would be awkward, you would struggle to control the direction you're looking if you're holding A. Maybe you hold a then let go and you can move it freely then you tap A again to drop.

You hold the A button then let go of A and it will still be in your hand. And to drop it again you have to hold A again.

Also, for people thinking it is awkward (Which it is, not disputing that) but you can also reach your left thumb over to the right stick. It's really not that hard.

Let's not try to pretend that the anolog sticks are precise or something. It'll work, but will probably be painful after a while. So if you're doing a lot of redecorating, it's probably wise to temporarily remap the grab.

Did you skip over the posts explaining how it works? Hold A over an item. This will activate grab mode instead of taking the item. Let go of A. Move around like you normally would with the sticks while not having to continue holding A since we'll be in grab mode. Press A again to release item where you want.
