NO MORE...Johnny Guitar

Post » Tue Dec 01, 2015 12:49 pm

I wondered the wasteland listening to Johnny Guitar.. seriously I heard it not to long ago at a retirement home party with some relatives and I didnt want to be there in the first place..and it comes on ... they were playing OLDIES music.. and I said.. OMG.. thats Johnny Guitar..I hate the song... old folks were looking at me and said.. your too young to know that song... where did you hear that from..I said a video game.. and they wanted to know why it was on there.. I had to just say.. they were playing random songs to enhance the players mood for nostalgia .. they looked confused of course.. and said.. well.. there are some really good songs out there .. besides that one.. Take for example.. Dean Marin.. I almost sank down off the chair and oozed onto the floor.. This prompted a lively discussion of music they liked and next thing I heard was how life was better.. and I kept thinking Fallout...

So I ask kindly to the developers NO MORE JOHNNY GUITAR .. please for the love of humanity.. you play fallout and it never leaves you I swear..

It was placed in the game to counteract the EPICNESS of Big Iron.

Hush your mouth and shame on you. :nono:

Johnny Guitar is awesome. As is Dean Martin. And the Andrews Sisters. Fallout is responsible for several of my Pandora stations. One of the best reasons to get Fallout on PC is the ability to mod in more songs to the radio stations - so you have all the old music!

I think that's one of the problems that Bethesda games have.

You can hear the same music over and over again in Skyrim to (i know it's epic but still)

I suggest to put like a 100 of music songs in every radio station (i think there should be 3 of them)

So there is some variaty in music, instead of listening the same thing over and over.

I personally love Johnny Guitar. Fallout 3 and New Vegas gave me a whole new appreciation for old music like that. My problem is that, at least in New Vegas, they repeat the same music so much that it can become tedious. I never had that problem in Fallout 3.

At least it behaves like a real radio. "Ugh this **** again?" and you change it or turn it off for a few minutes. Quite immersive.

Anyways, Johnny Guitar for life!

Well, those of us on PC do that with mods. It's really hard to get bored with the music when you have 150 of the greatest hits from the 40s and 50s playing on the radio. You can even mod it so the DJ doesn't interrupt as much. Then you just crank the tunes and shoot stuff in the face.

Dayum. I just finished reading this thread. I did not realize there was this many pod people that frequent these forums.

Look, every music selection Obsidian made for Fallout: NV was excellent, EXCEPT Johnny Guitar. The person that picked that one could have only gotten their inspiration from one of H. P. Lovecraft's Elder Gods. Subjecting us to Vogon poetry would have been kinder.

THE HORROR!!!!!!

To be fair, I was listening to Marty Robins and Dean Martin years before I had even heard of the Fallout games.

Visited my grandparents quite a bit as a kid, so I have an affinity towards the music of the 40s and 50s, while my parents taught me to appreciate music from the 60s through 80s. I'm terrible at contemporary music though. I'll hear a "new" song only to find out it came out 6 years ago.

Last year I watched and reviewed all of the Disney movies, and I was surprised to find segments of both Make Mine Music and Melody Time performed by the Andrews Sisters.

Can I get a track list?
