Which option would you like to see Skyrim follow.

More like Skyrim.
I've seen Morrowind and Oblivion in both mechanics and storyline. I want a fresh perspective.

If anything, I wish Skyrim would be more like Redguard, in terms of how that world and its story was successfully presented to the player.

I disapprove of threads which just encourage community division and flamewars between loyal fans :shakehead:

This just seems too vague and divisive to end well. Hope I'm wrong :whistling:

I played Oblivion first. Then Morrowind. I love them both and I want it to be in between. But I also love Daggerfall... AND I also want Skyrim to feel new....

Skyrim should be its own game, as every game should be.

I tend to agree with the above replies, but for the sake of being constructive, I'd say... a bit of both.

So far I get the impression that Skyrim's storyline, its diversity of landscape, and its exploration aspects are closer to Morrowind's, while clearly (and hopefully!) its combat will have some things in common with Oblivion, and almost nothing in common with Morrowind.

Its level progression, visuals, character design, and more all seem to be distinctly Skyrim, though.

Redguard has been the one game with a story that was well-told in the classic sense, not just well-conceived.

One reviewer rightfully said that it deserved to be put on a stage, and I *blush* wrote one scene as a theater production.

Neither. This is Skyrim. Watch the op will never post in this thread again. People like to create these flame attracting threads and then vanish never to be seen again.

*Sigh*

I hate these kind of topics.

I want Skyrim to be something new and with its own feeling. It has to be Skyrim, neither Morrowind 2 nor Oblivion 2.

Same guy started a thread on kids that was locked on first page. Looks like you have a point.

Oh and the OP question is like asking who was the best band, Blur or Oasis. The answer to that one is Supergrass.

I want it to be its own game, but if I had to choose, truthfully, it would be Oblivion. I prefer Oblivion's setting, quest structure, game mechanics, skill implementation, and various subtle bits. For a bit of contrast, I don't think Morrowind is as great as some people believe. It's all very subjective, and that's what I think.

It seems to me like they are taking more inspiration from Daggerfall and Morrowind, with a pinch of Oblivion.

Honestly i hope it borrows more ideas and atmosphere from Morrowind, but, having said that i really dont mind what its like as long as its unique, and not like LOTR or for that matter Conan.

A wise decision!

I must also add that they are making some radical decisions in some aspects of the game that is totally new, of which I like almost all of them, and I think the combination of the ideas taken back from those two old games with the new radical ones should result in a fresh and exciting experience and pleasing game-play.

I'm all enthusiasm.

Hopefully it'll be like Arena + Daggerfall + Morrowind + Oblivion + Redguard. Take the best aspects of each and see how they work! ;)
