You can't even fight from mount so why does it matter?
Take miami vice for example.. You know what your getting. Crockett isn't gonna put on a sweater or start wearing nikes or chucks. And he ain't gonna drive a smartcar
Unless somehow ESO implements dragons being tamed for flying, i see no other way to implement that type of feature. As far as different mounts, maybe just different colored horses, maybe build your own carriage type thing?
I think horse mounts should be for the average joe's and then a few hard to obtain mounts but something only a small percent are likely to be able to obtain.
Can Guar grow big enough to be mounts?
Sure, Warcraft, Rift, Tera etc. I've never been happier then when I've been straddling a pig with a rose in it's tail. Now, I don't suggest that level of silliness for ESO, the menagerie should be consistent with the darker world feel, but why not a Guar or Dwemer Spider? Then I won't be bored out of my skull staring at my basic horse
I just assume that anyone who believes a flying mount would fit into the game has absolutely no knowledge on the series in the slightest.
as for actual mounts, its likely we might get things like senche-tigers, guar, but not much else.
horses level up the longer you feed them, and as they level up they change appearance and gain armour and such.
I am not saying I take no pleasure in my boring horse, and certainly not making a statement about the game. I enjoy it just fine, I just get less pleasure on a dull horse than I would on a nice gold steampunky dwemer spider. I am not about to tell stodgy players that they can't have a basic horse. I just don't want to be told that I may have strictly limited options in a fantasy game.
I think let people enjoy the game the way they'd like. The more world-appropriate mounts and pets the better. They make great end quest line trinkets. It's like being rewarded, and judging from the way groups react to treasure chests, we all love that! I personally love vanity items, some don't and they don't need to acquire or use them.
Dwemer gyrocopters and other flying machines.
Nah, just give me some customization options for the horse, like adding some cloth pieces, saddle types, armor variations, pack bags
Btw, these new mounts should be obtainable ingame via quests, pvp, pve, etc. or more stuff for the cash shop?
I voted "yes stick to horse" and "no more mounts"
I don't know if it's been mentioned, but I would like to see a unicorn mount. It's still a horse, doesn't fly, and has already been in ES games previously (Hircine quest). You couldn't "keep" the unicorn, even if you did manage to ride it, and once you got off it would try to gore you and/or run back "home." And to complete the quest you had to kill at anyway...so anyway, unicorns would be nice simply because I always wanted to be able to keep the unicorn (admittedly, I would like it to look better than a white Imperial mount with a horn glued to its forehead...like it did in Oblivion...).
Other mounts, yeah I'd like to see a little variation on horses, but I like the idea of "more traditional." I think the mount thing has gotten way out of hand in some games. Don't get me wrong, there are many badass ones out there, but it's just...I don't know...it'd be nice to have a game that isn't as concerned with constantly providing wild new mounts/vanity pets every few weeks. There comes a point where it's just absurd.
And I'm with the idea of no flying mounts. Mostly because it makes me hate making alts because I'm all "UGH travel mode is so SLOW NOW..." I mean yeah you can get the same problem with ground mounts, but flight is generally quite a bit faster even than ground mounts.
EDIT: Oooh, the horse carriage mentioned above I like, that sounds neat.
On second thought, how about none of those, but craftable horse armor?
Edit: Oh, and craftable wagons to carry stuff/extra people...
Ok so lets imagine ESO in 10 years...ask yourself if theres only horse mounts?
Ok good. No.
Ofcourse this game can have more mounts than horses. Have some imagination.
NO flying, "not now, not ever" !
i voted guar camel silt strider, and horse ofcourse
I gave u my basic idea and the suitable for the alliances, I can't vote if u don't update the poll..
Ad shapeshifting (or gryphons, like egyptian statues half lion and half birds) for AD and dragons for EP..
A pigasos cannot be used by most of the races that the game have... reptoids, nords and elfs cannot use Pigasos... Pigasos is a very ellegant mount and is from my countrys history, I know this things... Only the brave hearts and pure souls can have it. That also means, if they EVER do it, you can have it after you gap 50 and you got ur soul back! lol
This is why I love game forums. Most anywhere you go it is soooo taboo to talk about mounting animals yet here we can speak openly about it and most people embrace the idea.
Wait , what are we talking about here?? Ohhhhh n/m
On a serious note , lets keep it horses ..
Here is a question: have you ever seen someone riding anything other than a horse in a TES game prior to this? I haven't, but my memory may have faded. If a certain culture uses something different for a mount commonly, then POSSIBLY have other mounts, but they should be rare. The vast majority of people should have horses. Make add'l mounts extremely rare random drops. That way, anyone has a chance for one, and we don't see a crazy influx of people riding all sorts of bizarre critters and ruining the Elder Scrolls feel.
shapeshifting and dragons are also lore-friendly...
I am shocked I couldn't pick werewolf. They'd make for the best of mounts.
*leaves out a scooby snack*
