We all know that in the fallout installments there weren't that many songs on the radio. Also it was always a 50's swing era sort of style of music. The music is good and it fits the theme of fallout. But i always felt like they could of had more options in the choice of music. I have 2 points to back this up.
Not everyone in the wasteland is going to have the same taste in music. Especially since all the communities and factions in fallout are mostly divided they would develop there own tastes in music. However there could be one genre that's especially popular i don't think it would be the only genre that's available on radio. People in the wasteland may make there own music as well after all they'd need some way of entertaining themselves. Sure its not like you could simply buy instruments since its an apocalyptic world but maybe they brought instruments in the vaults to entertain themselves. They'd still have recordings of music from before 2077 and the nuclear apocalypse but at the same time they could make there own. It would be more realistic with a mixture of different styles.
Also to satisfy music tastes. I know we should still keep the realism and not add the modern popular music (i don't even like whats popular these days myself) But in new Vegas we only had a small selection of songs that repeated over and over and they were still always the 50's swing style stuff. Didn't you turn on the radio while exploring the wastes and wish for your favorite songs of other genres or get sick of the same songs? Other than news about the wasteland whats the point of radio stations then?
I personally think they can add more music while keeping it realistic for example they wouldn't have our modern sort of music obviously but maybe some instruments were left in the vaults and the talent stayed alive with the survivors. They could form bands and get caps out of others for playing the music and the music is put on the radio. Also there would be a lot more recordings of all genres surviving after the war which could be played on radio,s.
