No more patches for Crysis 2

Post » Wed Jul 20, 2011 9:02 am

From eurogamer.net:

"Now, four months after release, Crytek is happy with the state of Crysis 2's online multiplayer.

Crytek recently released a DirectX 11 patch for the PC version of the game, which allows those with powerful computers to ramp up the graphics.

This is the last patch scheduled by Crytek, Tully confirmed.

But the developer promised to dip back into support of the game if a hack emerges that demands attention. "

Retarded AI needs fixing because it's just bad.

Wow. Startling read. "Crysis 2: how Crytek UK beat the hackers" is the article title, and it just gets worse from there.... all self-congratulation and blame.

"The things we've done post release are things if we'd thought about it beforehand and known it was going to happen, we could have done those," Crytek UK principal programmer Pete Hall explained.

A little bit of that would have gone a long way.

Not good, people, not good.

Looks like it's up to nvidia to save the game then, because it don't take a rocket scientist to know it needs optimized.

Still so many bugs to fix, and they're happy? Crytek UK needs to be laid off indefinitely

A game could be left unpatched with bad enemy AI, some glitches, etc. It CAN'T be left unpatched if many people can't load checkpoints, so they can't finish the game. They have to provide either:

-A new patch solving this problem,
-A way to safely go back to 1.8 -DX11 or
-A full refund for people that can't finish the game because of the 1.9 patch.

Anything else is a fraud.

I hope this is a **** joke. Patch 1.9 screwed the whole optimization of the game. (1.8 worked nice) And Crytek says he is happy and they do not intend to fix anything? If this is true, this would mean that Crytek is the worst producer of video games what I ever know. Thank you, gentlemen, you are great. Now go do Crysis1 for consoles or whatever you want. I do not care because Crysis 2 is the last game that I bought from your brand.

I hope this isnt true they still have to fix a lot of issues like the ORBITAL LAG and the FRAME RATE issues that this last patch has.

It's funny. Really, it's funny.

Crytek is proud of their Multiplayer, having around 17 full active Servers... Nice Crytek, achievement unlocked: Worst Playercount after 4 months.

Srsly, Crysis Wars made it at least 3 years, before the playercount dropped that low.

where are all the sheeple who defending Crytek in these forms when I had called them out for releasing a Beta now?.....that's what I thought. This company is a sell out to the console market.

Crytek UK messed up, that's all, but they aren't willing to fix it. Where are the lost gamemodes? Where the originality? Where the **** balance?!?

Crysis 2 is one of my favourite games, same goes to Crysis 1, Warhead and Wars, so it hurts me to see, how the Multiplayer of Crysis 2 is dying a fast and painful death.

But Crytek UK refuses to react, refuses to keep the players as their support. That's why I am mad at Crytek UK, hopefully they learn, or Crytek Frankfurt takes over the MP part of Crysis 3....

I like to offer support where it's due but to give an interview like that is astounding.

"We didn't expect the level of cheating as the game got". One of the highest profile PC games in years and you didn't think the cheaters would try to get their hooks into it! A bit like leaving a Bentley parked outside a prison with the doors unlocked and the keys in the ignition then being surprised when someone steals it.

Reading this article gives the cynical half of my brain the feeling that this team had no real PC experience and just assumed that because you can't alter PAK files on consoles so easily that no one would bother to do so on the PC.

Credit where credit is due they have made the experience much less 'horrific' but still I think the early days of losers running amok has done lasting damage to the game.

If that interview is true... all I have to say is: FU Crytek, and FU Crycheat 2.
It's incredible...

Saves don't work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If the save problem isn't big enough for a next patch, I don't know what is...

Oh cmon, you people said that leaderboards will be adjusted to our current ranks for most of us not being in sync and now you say no more patches!? WTH MAN! So many bugs that still needs to be fixed and you just give up on the game. This is truly shameful.

- Orbital Strike LAG
- Timer not responding in game lobby
- Faulty Leaderboards
- Anti-Cheat features (btw, can't you close that official crysis2 hacks website??)

Nothing else comes to mind to me right now but hose are the primary stuff that should be resolved.
I don't think it's too much to ask but we've each paid 60 bucks or so for your game so a few fixes here and there wouldn't hurt, no?
P.S: Chat Room would be good too :D
