No More Pipboy Editions?

Post » Sat Nov 28, 2015 6:40 am

So, I was looking around online for someone to have any Pipboy Editions in stock and came across an article, http://www.polygon.com/2015/7/28/9056765/fallout-4-pipboy-edition-preorder-sold-out stating that there will be no more Pipboy Editions.

Please tell me this isn't true? I missed the pre-sale and have been holding out on ordering the game because I'm hoping there are going to be more. But if this is the case it's really rather disappointing.

So, what's the deal? Is this real? And on top of that I didn't even know there was a second run already made. This is so depressing if true.

Yea its real, short version is the factory they are making them from is apparently backlogging other orders, in order to already fill the current order from bethesda. So they are sold out because no more can be made at this time.

It really svcks because I do wish people had more chances to get it.

I managed to snag one on amazon but part of me is afraid something will go wrong lol.

I'm maintaining hope that after release, they do selective re-releases. I mean, sure it's a glorified phone case to work with an app that works fine without the apparatus, but to simply stop at one go of it, seems...I mean, come on, the ability to have a fully functional pipboy? This is money in the bank for them. Maybe around the holidays they'll roll out a new limited stock.

Because, if this second screen thing works really well, it may become a recurring feature in future installments. But if that is the case, and there is a limited number of Pipboys, Beth could wind up missing a very awesome opportunity to enhance their Fallout brand.

To be honest, the Pip-Boy announcement was not a quiet one,

and they did make 'sh!tloads of them',

and the factory/ies making them is stacked and is still making them.

I'm not sure if there was a second run recently or not, but a few days ago Bethesda sent out emails to people who had gotten their pre-order canceled to let them know that they had some extra CEs laying around from people who canceled their pre-orders.

Now that those are gone there may well be no more.

I hope so, but this is a pretty collectible CE. Even still I am a fan of the series so I would have liked to get one I can use and one I can keep in the box as a collectors item. I tried one on in here, believe me, you would want two, they are just too awesome!

Damn I suppose I'll just convert my microwave oven into a pipboy so that my tablet fits nicely into it.

Why do people expect a COLLECTORS EDITION to be so vast in quantity?

Yeah..no., because you work for Beth so there's all kinds of cool kickass stuff you have access too. You didn't get to BUY one; but I'm sure you still got one. ;) It's really disappointing that they aren't being made anymore. It would've looked cool sitting on my desk next to my grenade and Wasteland 2 tin and Fallout 3 Lunchbox and New Vegas chips and my DOD Fallout Shelter sign. :( I'll still buy the game and enjoy the crap out of it but it just won't be the same. ;)

They often are. Collectors Editions aren't always Limited Editions.

I myself actually like that a collectors edition is for once rare. Probably the only one thinking this way though.

I'm surprised that you guys don't get first dibs, or that you don't have a employee's store like some companies have.

Something being for collectors doesn't automatically mean "rare." People collect pennies. Not special pennies. Just pennies. Pennies aren't rare.
