Funny thing was the pirates actually helped get the servers going because they would join them. There are too few people to get servers going now.

Most of Crysis Wars were pirates who joined "NO CD KEY" servers. Lol. ie. modded servers where you didn't need a CD key to play. Which is strictly prohibited, although nothing could be done about them... Least they didn't cheat...

When I patched the game to 1.2, it said to me again that I have an invalid key (happened 4 times to me now)... i just click the modify button in the login screen and re-input my cd key, I can now join multiplayer

Uh... did I miss something here? There were still blatant cheaters online today. Also, still pirates on servers. I know because there's someone in my psych class who didn't buy this game, and I saw him online still.

There are certainly less pirates and hackers online now, either the patch blocked some of the hacks, or they got bored.

The only reason why there are less hackers/cheaters is because a lot of the pirates were the hackers/cheaters.

Even if a pirate gets banned, they could make a new serial key and a new account and keep hacking/cheating...but NOW pirates cant play online multiplayer anymore so there are ALOT less cheaters!

90-95% of the cheater population just died after 1.2 Patch came out since it weeded out the pirates.

But dont get me wrong, there ARE STILL CHEATERS, just not as much.

Its only gonna get better from here really...! Assuming Crytek keeps increasing anti cheat security..,,,,

Seems less players online playing. Hope do the new patch prevent pirates in.
If you have a legit key, enter it again , it works for me . I'm also won't allow log in the first time when 1.2 patch installed. Need modify key and input it again .

Lol, yeah, you got rid of the pirates. Now you have few players who are mostly cheaters. Pirates are poor people. They don't buy $50 cheats. All you did was kick a bunch of decent players. Enjoy the new hacker / player ratio.

There are 3 main cheaters online today (kuthedude2, CrytekProgrammer and apparently tinkerbellfuguup) and I saw one guy firing out of a wall off map yesterday, but the number of cheaters has definitely dwindled. I haven't been online tonight and I hope the servers aren't as dead as people are saying.

Oh, I'm sure there were a few pirates doing .xml hacks and such that were just stupidly left unprotected by Crytek. But those are minor cheats. The non-pirates that you have left are the ones who bought .exe hacks that are major ones, like flying and aimbot. I don't know why Crytek doesn't just ban their legit serials.

Seriously, 1.2 killed off all the pirates. This is the only game I have ever seen where pirates managed to get on online MP because of screwed up code. I doubt if I'll ever see it again. Usually, pirates can only play on cracked, private servers.
