No more power ranger armour? = WIN.

I think the armour we have seen so far looks great. I only have one problem, the horned helmets look really stupid.

Skyrim could use bigger variety of mail, not just 1 "mail armor" but different kinds, look for example at this screenies: http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,155113.0.html, it's from mount&blade warband mod vikingr, there are many cool viking armors, all historically accurate, armor don't need to be flashy and ovedone to look good, sometimes it's good to stick with more "basic" look.

Tis true you know. Dragon age has some fine realistic armer. Quite badass too :P

I hope for a mix of armer in Skyrim to suite all my roleplaying tastes. I think there has been a lack of true evil looking armer in past scroll games so hopefully that. :)

http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5090/5214671240_afec259dfd_z.jpg is realistic to you?

And what is "Evil armor" anyway, please explain. :hubbahubba:

Most of the armor in Oblivion looked plausible, except glass armor, daeric was over the top but was designed this way. Only other complains is that the legion armor used one cm thick plates and the female chainmail top was to flimsy.

It's really closely based on real armor, this one is http://www.google.pl/imgres?imgurl=http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/bb/Zbroja_1514.JPG&imgrefurl=http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Zbroja_1514.JPG&h=2272&w=1704&sz=651&tbnid=Hm6ThnpFaaSfCM:&tbnh=150&tbnw=112&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dmaximilians%2Barmor&zoom=1&q=maximilians+armor&usg=__bU1vnQ_Ka3FJm4pcXC0TsUHEoV4=&sa=X&ei=ZDlVTaSqHMSaOrHcrdgE&ved=0CCIQ9QEwAQ

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maximilian_armour

Helmet used is known as armet http://www.google.pl/imgres?imgurl=http://www.a2armory.com/images/med-helmets/armet-helm.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.a2armory.com/medknigarhel.html&h=293&w=243&sz=11&tbnid=VVaMezqrvSRfoM:&tbnh=115&tbnw=95&prev=/images%3Fq%3DArmet%2Bhelmet&zoom=1&q=Armet+helmet&hl=pl&usg=__j27SALJE6S0jFyjecajriQNK8YU=&sa=X&ei=jzpVTfOcNsWYOpyk8bwF&ved=0CDoQ9QEwBg

Skyrah, are you saying Daedric doesn't look evil? Man, you really have high standards for evil looking armor. ;)

Oh yes they looked evil. The problem was, so many baddies wore them in Oblivion that the feeling soon wore off. Unique evil armour I would very much like to see. Also I have very high standards for evil armour :chaos:

That does look very realistic i am glad you pointed that out. A bit of a paint job on the amour but apart from that tis looks fine :D

Evil armour.... making you look evil and sinister since 1949 :D I cant really explain what evil armour is, here is a link that shows sort of what I mean,

Well pauldrons are over-the-top and look like very weakly attached, paintjob is crappy, (or it's rather different materials used in manufacture), overall it looks more like ceremonial armor, it would need serious overhaul to be considered as realistic(for combat use), still better than wow(but right gauntlet base look like straight taken from it).

I like unrealistic imposingly evil armor, with the Huge Spiked Shoulderpads of Villiany. I also wouldn't mind a few ludicrously large pauldrons, like those worn by http://privateerpress.com/files/products/khador/warcasters/vladimir-the-dark-prince-of-umbrey.png.

And Bound Armor suits have to look like Power Ranger armor

I stopped being a mage after accidentally conjuring 'Bound Stick in Bottom for 10 seconds'. It really killed my mood.

This picture is definitely not elder scrolls style, even daedric don't have such silly pauldrons, not bashing this visual style but it's not fitting tes.

If we are supposed to be all powerful heroes we may as well have over-the-top costumes to display our status, no?

But we don't have to and up to this time we didn't. Over the top is good with over-the-top art style, tes is not prime example of it(strange, alien style - yes, check morrowind, but it's always not beyond internal disbelief).

I loved Morrowind armor, but I also like the direction Skyrim is going for, since it fits the time and place.

So you liked The Dwemer armor from Morrowind?

NO. I want my ludacrisly oversized armor designed for badass look rather that usability in my fantasy games. I hate it when you guys try to bring logic into a video game with magic and dragons.

I dont think i've ever seen any armor in any game, that i thought was more rediculous or impractical than most ACTUAL suits of armor from 14th-16th century Europe.

OP you sound like you're aiming for more of a 10th-13th early 14th century feel.

power ranger armor?

...as i recall, their armor wasnt really all that crazy, just colorful.

by the way, the only thing even REMOTELY similar to power rangers is how sheogorath/jyggalag grew larger before getting his ass handed to him.

those who watched power rangers should understand that reference.
