No More Skyrim DLC

Post » Mon Apr 15, 2013 7:16 pm

In a nice post on Bethblog, Bethesda says there won't be any more DLC coming for Skyrim (although they do leave the door open for further patches and tweaks):

For the last year and a half we’ve been working on new content for Skyrim; from the game updates, Creation Kit, Steam Workshop, Kinect support, to DLCs. Parts of our team have also been in pre-production on our next major project, and that game is at the point where it requires the studio’s full attention to make it our biggest and best work yet.

Even though we’re moving on, we’ll still have minor updates to Skyrim as needed.

I guess that means it's up to us now.

It's good they announced it, and the fact they're open to continue supporting the game is a bonus to :) Fallout 4 here we come!!!

It's silly, but my mood took a deep plunge at the news. Oh well. At least now we all know not to expect further major bugfests approaching for a while now. ;) Still-- ending the saga of the Dovahkiin as Herma-Mora's indentured servant leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Don't see Todd in that picture!

Damn shame that there are no further DLC's for Skyrim - I wonder what minor updates could be coming and it does read more than one.....well if needed.

"Biggest and best work yet" has me intrigued.

Agreed. As a player I would have enjoyed more DLC--and as a modder, I wouldn't have minded more models and such to play with. But also as a modder, it's nice not to have the possibility of future DLCs hanging over certain ideas. We know what we have now, and so it should be a more stable base to mod on top of.

I looked for him, too. Found him in the upper left. Look for the yellow stripes on his sleeve.

Bethesda's always released a big TES game near the start of each new console generation hasn't it?
And the next console generation has been announced right?
TES6? :P

If it wasn't for that final quip about "minor updates to the game", I'd start working on the Creation Kit Extender right away :P
