They're good.
He's right y'know, they are :thumbsup: (Although if I wore the soul ring I'd have to be careful waving my hand around. Or drinking...)

Damn it, now I'll have trouble deciding which aspect of Hircine to fight - it's like unique Pokemon, but worse, since I can't trade with people! Maybe someone could make a mod that adds a fourth Hircine aspect that's even stronger than Guile and has all three...

I changed the band on the heart ring to be the 6th house metal bells texture - the same as the other rings I changed, and more 6th-house-like.

There's also the ring St Felm's Fire, which doesn't appear in game because it uses a leveled list that no one in MW uses. It is used by one guy in Tribunal, though. It's a pretty powerful ring, it does 11-60 Fire damage, so I felt maybe it could use its own model? Really, I was just looking for an excuse to use one of the saints' frescoes... :P

Yay for lovely atronarch textures! One of the coolest textures in the game imo o_O
Looks good, it's a keeper! Very intriguing project, will be a must have once it is done =)

The bands of the new blood and soul rings look fantastic, but for some reason I actually really prefer the old finer pattern on the "stones." *shrugs* Though perhaps the larger pattern would look better in game, since I imagine the finer pattern would be virtually impossible to see?

Tweaked the Blood Ring again - I put in a different texture for that center bit, http://i468.photobucket.com/albums/rr50/Alaisiagae/Mod%20Screenshot%20MW/Misc/ring_blood_newv2.jpg.

Marara's ring is pretty powerful - artifact quality, I dare say. Mezalf is a Dwemer specter, and the ring is described as being Dwemeri in construction, so I used a dwemer weapon texture on the band.

I was doing a dialogue test run yesterday and went through the chargen stage - grabbed Fargoth's ring and being in a hurry missed tossing it into my inventory and it fell on the ground - I swear it took me about 3 minutes to pick the darn thing up - trying to line up the cursor over it - and no i hadn't guzzled the mazte from the census office. Anyway - the point is I couldn't see any detail on the ring at all - some of the work you've done - like the guild rings is great detail - but I wonder how I'll ever get to appreciate it in game?

I'm very much in agreement with the topic of your post that new meshes would be great - I'd like to see some rings use the precious stones that are being mined on the island - you can wander around with a diamond the size of a tennis ball in your pocket but they are not in the rings? And nothing seems to get done with the pearls.

With the amulets as at least you can see something of the texture when they are on a trader's counter. I hope you don't put in an enormous amount of effort which in game is really hard to see.

Hmm... I hope this doesn't sound like criticism ...its not intended to be ...I like what you are doing with the textures just doubtful whether I will be able to see them in game?

You have a good point. Maybe the http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=708189&hl= mod will be useful for viewing small objects in all their glory. :unsure:

Also, I could really use some new ring meshes, as I've pretty much exhausted the texture combos that look decent on the vanilla meshes. If anyone wants to step up with something now is your time to shine! :cookie:

Are you not using any texture fix for rings in your game? Normal Morrowind has an error where it doesn't load the textures for any of the rings--there's a couple mods that fix this error.

I've been working on getting the birthsigns off of those rusty panels for my upcoming birthsign texture replacer, so while I'm sure you're more than capable of doing it if you feel like it, if you wanted me to put them on a gem or more polished metal texture, I'm happy to help. It probably doesn't matter since the rings are so small anyway, but it's just a little detail that I noticed.

I could really use some more meshes. They don't have to be complex or anything. A pearl ring sounds nice. A pearl on a ring band, and that'd be great! Or even a simple disk or half-sphere on a ring band - a kind of signet ring, or just a circular gem inset...

@Antares: I'm having trouble deciding what to do with your excellent skull-on-a-ring. I'm thinking it might make for an interesting rendition of the "ancestor" ring, but do you have anything in mind for it? It could be Aeslipp's ring? :unsure:

Probably not. That's not really in the scope of this project, to redo meshes that are already unique. I tweaked some of the 6th house rings because there were a few errors/oddities with the mesh. I find the amulet meshes in particular to be a bit too complex for simply pasting on a texture that was meant for, say, a cuirass or an architecture piece. The rings are easier in that regard, though I have trouble with the UV mapping warping the textures for the exquisite rings and some of the extravagant rings.

Mostly, what I really want to do, is to have new models for the unique rings (non-artifact rings). However, there's a distinct lack of new ring and amulet/necklace/pendant/torc meshes - believe me, I've searched over and over again on ES Search, and I have come across maybe half a dozen new meshes for rings and amulets, none of which were simple enough or stylistically in-line with the rest of Morrowind's jewelry meshes.

As for the ring meshes being itsy bitsy and too small to see, perhaps they could be enlarged? Might not be realistic, but at least you'll be able to find them if you accidentally drop a ring somewhere. I'd need help from someone skilled in Nifskope or Blender to make those size adjustments, so if anyone is interested and willing to help, let me know in this thread or by PM and I can upload the meshes for you, and we can determine a good size for the rings. :)

From my experience, ring meshes in Morrowind are already unrealistically large as it is. And with the textures applied, they aren't that difficult to find on the ground, unless its like pitch black. Or, as I suggested before, if there isn't a texture fix applied.
