No more unique weapons ?

As we could see from the gameplay, you can mod every weapon in the game and make them more powerfull.

Does this mean that we won't have any unique/rare weapons in the game ? (like experimental mirv etc....)

I'm going to guess no, but assume that modification of unique weapons will be limited or not allowed.

Unique weapons could still be feasable, we had uniques of weapons that were moddable in FNV, they just had some better base stats and random effect added to make them unique, along with a diferent paintjob.

My guess is that unique weapons will be the base weapon with various mods already applied to it. Like a unique 10mm pistol having the silencer, extended mags, and a laser sight already on it when you find the gun.

tbh, i dont think unique weapons are really necessary now that i can personalize my gun to my standards, the only reason i used unique things in the past was because i wanted a weapon that was for me alone

I don't see why they wouldn't be a thing still?

They probably won't be just super amazing like in 3, but rather comparable to an average version of the gun. A fully modified regular version with the absolute best and highest tier mods installed would be superior, but you're also investing multiple perks and time to make it that way.

I hope there are not any unique weapons.

Something like a named weapon that comes with mods already installed would be fine as long as you could add the same mods to a generic and get the same thing. That would add style and coolness without breaking balance.

Definitely I hope there are not any magical combat knives, looking at you Chance, that are just twice as good as a normal combat knife. Leave the magic weapons in Skyrim. Unless we are going full on Thundarr the Barbarian with the sorceress Ariel, if that is the case then bring on the magic.

That wouldn′t be really that unique would it?

Perhaps if you could find something like that, but with a different fire or damage rating, with a goofy paint job, some extra weathering or maybe a slightly different skin...

I think that finding a unique weapon, and then being able to break it down and improve several of your favorite guns with its parts (unique skins/stats) would be pretty freakin awesome.

How about we apply some ideas to match the new system guys. Unique Mod Parts. Eh? Eh? Any takers?

That's my thoughts on how they might work. Instead of a whole gun we find/make a unique part that would add the unique trait.
