Surprised? I am confused that you find it surprising, their are tons of people modding Morrowind, their is something new to read about or try almost every day. Their are games far older than Morrowind that still have a strong modding community, I guess you just do not know much about the modding scene.

Thanks for the update Neloth, I will try it out soon as I can. :)

Wonderful work!!

Can I ask what part II will consist of? I hope furniture ... That stuff is pretty low-poly and most PCs these days can handle a lot more especially in the interiors.

part II will consist of containers and ingredients, that means some furniture acting like containers will be taken care of(desks, dressers, closets and cabinets)

Is it possible to have animated containers? would be cool to have opening doors or drawers, or opening chest lids :)

Phaedrus made a couple of resources that are animated containers.

There are opening chests and animated cupboards in Shannon's City Mod. At least some of them were made by Barabus. See this thread for a few bits of information: http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=910465&hl=shannon+city

Just an FYI - I have the latest version, but the silverware spoons still sink into surfaces when you put them down. Not a huge bug, but very noticeable if you are setting a table for whatever reason.

Are you planning on finishing up the rest of the misc objects that you left out of this mod? Just curious...

thanks for the notice, i`ll fix it soon :) rest of the misc objects? the only ones left are:

bittercup
ash statue
propylon index
keys(there already is a fantastic replacer for those)
vivec ashmask
dagoth goblet

if your thinking of containers, ingredients, furniture and the rest, they
will follow in separate releases

containers and ingredients is 60% done so far, so thats the next release

Nice. I can't say I will be using all of it, but I will definitely be using quite a bit of it. One thing though, real world labels on Morrowind bottles?

I asked a thousand times in the past requesting a texturer to create lore friendly bottle labels, but without luck.

I can try to redraw the labels. It's quite easy...

Huh, weird. In my game, the common pewter pitcher and one of the goblets, about half of the silverware objects including the pitcher and the cup (as compared to the goblet) and forks, some of the wooden bowls and a handful of other things are coming up vanilla (meaning, with the texture from my pluginless texture replacer). I thought at first they were simply mod-added stuff that might have different names, but ALL of these things in the game come up like that, including things I know haven't been touched by any mods I have (such as the stuff on the bookcases in the first Census office room where you pick your class). Your mod loads last, so I didn't expect a conflict.

Anyway, sorry about that! :embarrass:

These replacers are absolutely beautiful ? so beautiful, in fact, that they'll probably stand out against even the highest-resolution world texture replacers. However, I have to say that I've never liked dramatically transparent and/or shiny items in Morrowind. It's why I don't use Qarl's flask and bottle replacers; they're good, but they stand out way too much, and thus I actually prefer the original models.

I feel that Morrowind's miscellaneous items should have an organic, earthenware aesthetic to them, to include flasks, cups, goblets, pitchers, and the like. In my opinion, you should tone down the "shiny" items and give them a "semi-glossy" look instead. You should also make highly transparent items more translucent, like a stained-glass window rather than car windshield.

Just my two cents, and again, this is my personal opinion. Others may disagree. :)

I think you're talking about preserving the dark atmosphere. I agree with you but unfortunately we're at the ends of the earth here in terms of what we can do with this game graphically. Designing graphic updates for Morrowind is less of an artistic endeavor and has really dissolved into more of a technical tweakfest, where the man with the most bumps and highest resolution photograph win!

Basically it's up to the players to make sure that the fancy tricks don't break immersion, which means being picky when downloading your replacers... This is why they're always divided into multiple sections of course!
