a comprehensive sound and music mod by PeterBitt & Logitech
MAO is a comprehensive overhaul of the sound and music system in Morrowind.
Vanilla Morrowind is almost completely silent in many areas, uses repetitive sounds for PC/NPC actions, many sounds are of poor quality and the same soundtrack is playing all the time and everywhere - MAO attempts to improve this with a huge amount of carefully selected sound and music files, brought to life by a complex, yet easy to customize and modular set of plugins and scripts.

informations
In the first place this thread is a showcase of a mod, that Logitech and I create for our personal use.
We will definitely release the ESPs together with those sounds that are free to use. Don't discuss anything related to the other sounds here!
Yes I am allowed to post this thread here, I checked with the moderators.
There will be a tutorial on how to implement your own sounds into MAO on http://www.youtube.com/user/PjotrBittsky?feature=watch upon release.
It is not possible to create a batch program to copy the sounds from an existing Skyrim installation as we have a lot more sources than just Skyrim and almost all sounds have been edited in some way.
There is no estaminated release date yet but everything other than the stuff in "Comming Soon" section is pretty much finished.

It would be appreciated if you can name all high quality and free sound sources that you can think of in this thread.
If you feel like participating even more, have a look at the spoiler below and collect free alternatives for those sounds:
Spoiler
- foot steps walking/running/sneaking (at least 6 per armor class)
- landing (at least 3 per armor class)
- critical strike
- spell sfx (cast, travel, hit, area) for all shools plus Frost, Fire & Poison
- weapon pull/away for all weapon types
[List is not complete. We can think about the others once these are done.]

Feedback and suggestions are welcome but don't expect us to do stuff we don't like. Also keep in mind that this mod is easy to customize - please no "I don't like this particular sound" complaints.
Thanks!
