Morrowind became unplayable

Well.. Since I started playing the game there always were these CTD's but the last days... it's just awful it takes like ten CTD's before a savefile actually wants to be loaded and then it takes like 5 minutes before the game crashes again... at the moment the game is unplayable and well I just hate it... I think I've like every Patchy thing that you can use... I've the latest (v1.9) Code Project version.. have patch project v.1.6.4 and all my saves show up clean and purple in Wrye Bash and when I check to repair the saves it says there are no problems found...
Currently I'm on the point of stopping with the game and I'm just hoping one of you is able to help me.. CTD's will probably never dissapear but at least make sure it's playable again and I dont have to wait a quarter of an hour so I can play the game for five minutes....

I dunno, I've had similar experiences when I made the mistake of using the latest beta version of MGE instead of the latest *stable* version.

That was the second thought I had. :D

There have been quite a few issues I've seen with rev178. That's why I use rev161. :goodjob:

Sort of a moot point until we see the load order though. :)

I haven't had any problems with it. Still, we should see what EgyptRaider is using.

I'm not using MWE cuz like a year ago I indeed had the same thing cuz off MWE...

so that would mean that I can't use mel. Teleport plugin anymore? (since that's like the only reason I use this MGE version)

and BTW.. at the moment I've only 6 save files including the auto and quick save...

All righty, it's good news/bad news time.

Good news: reverting to the latest stable build of MGE *should* stop your game from crashing like a Russian spacecraft on re-entry.

Bad news: I seem to recall having to do a total uninstall/reinstall of Morrowind to clear the beta MGE. I'm pretty sure that it stores something in the registry (MGE, that is) which can only be undone by removing it manually - or, at least that was my experience with it. You may need to ask in the MGE thread on that one.

I too used to use MGE only for Melian's teleport mod.

I originally used rev118 and it worked perfectly with MTM, but it didn't have some of the features I wanted after I upgraded my PC. I switched to rev161 and haven't had any trouble at all with it.

You're the second person I've tried to help with rev178. The other person had it running just fine for a couple of weeks, then all of a sudden and for no reason, it quit working. Hopefully you'll be able to remove rev178 with no issues. I'd highly recommend rev161. I've had no issues with it and it seems to actually run much faster than rev118. Rev118, btw, is as far back as you can go and still use MTM. You could also use the stand-alone MWSE and drop MGE completely.

Are you loading a save made in an exterior cell? I never could get those to load unless I first loaded up one made in an interior cell.
