So roughly 90% of the time when I am playing Morrowind and I save my game, then click "exit game", my game crashes and causes my PC to completely mind [censored] itself. I don't understand why this happens.

So my PC either just freezes and the screen is froze and Morrowind never closes and I have to hard reset my comp, or it crashes and windows brings up a menu that says "Morrowind has stopped working. Attempting to find a solution" or whatever, and I can't see my mouse at all and it just hangs there, again causing me to hard reset my PC.

One time yesterday after playing for a while, I exited Morrowind and it causes my hard drive to fail and my computer had to run a recover on the disc before I could start my computer.

Morrowind is the ONLY game that ever does this, and this is a new laptop and there is nothing wrong with my hard drive. What gives?

I am running fairly basic stuff; MGE (which includes an array of mods) and one minor tweak plugin I made myself through the CS that increases the enchant value of exquisite rings and amulets. That's it.

Crashing while exiting is very common with morrowind. It happens to me all the time usually with MGE. But MGE is so essential for me, I learned to live with it.

Open 'Morrowind.ini' and search for "Background Keyboard=0" or something lik that. Change the value to 1. This allows for alt-tabbing from morrowind. When morrowind freezes, you can alt-tab out and close it via taskbar.

But morrowind uses MGE's ini, not my default one. If I used default INI my game would not be the same as with MGE, so I dont know how you do that exactly

Morrowind uses morrowind.ini regardless whether you use MGE or not. Many essential settings like sky colors, fonts, modlist etc are saved in morrowind.ini.

MGE's ini is in MGE3 folder and it is used only by MGE.
