Whenever I try to start Morrowind I get this error message http://i586.photobucket.com/albums/ss309/Mad_Phellow/morrowinderror.png%C2%A0.

I can't think of anything that else that wasn't already mentioned in that thread.
Usually a re-install of Direct X (or the individual d3d8.dll file itself) should be a fix.

You shouldn't have Morrowind installed in Program Files if it still is. You can simply copy/paste your entire Bethesda folder elsewhere.

Have you recently tried downloading and installing a new d3d8.dll file. It's easy to find on google.

I always, always get this when I install from my disk. I usually just download this: http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?d3d8 and put it in the morrowind file besides the morrowind.exe.

I downloaded that file and then put it in my morrowind file next to the morrowind.exe and got this error message when trying to open the game http://i586.photobucket.com/albums/ss309/Mad_Phellow/morrowinderrornew_zpsbc036eda.png

Well... At least we got past the first error!

did you move your morrowind folder outside of program files like pluto said to do?

where should i move it? desktop?
