"Morrowind For 2009"?

Post » Thu Apr 29, 2010 5:01 pm

You'll want to use the 'clean' file in place of the original.

I like to move the original out of 'Data Files' and put it in a 'Dirty' folder under 'Data Files'.

You might not want to disable renaming the file to 'clean' since then it will overwrite the original and you won't have a backup (except for the copy from the original archive you downloaded, so you're ok then if you keep your archives somewhere).

Thank you for the advice, I had something like that in mind because I didn't want the clutter of an unused file in the data files folder. So does the original file even need to be anywhere in the morrowind directory? Because I have a folder on my desktop I'm using for all of my modding things so would it be fine if I put it in there?

And do I clean all mods, as well as things like the Code patch and the Morrowind Patch Project?

Thanks again!

Any folder will do, like you said it's more for reducing clutter since the cleaned version fully replaces the original. :)

There's no need to clean mods that the modder has stated already clean in their readme - MPP is already clean. The Morrowind Code Patch operates directly on Morrowind.exe so there's no plugins to clean (the showcase plugin is just for demo'ing some of the fixes and does not need to be cleaned).

Ohh I see, didn't know that. Thank you for all the help!

Another quick question: So far, I have installed Better Bodies, Better Heads, Code Patch, and MPP. In Wyre mash, it is showing two yellow boxes next to the Better Heads Bloodmoon and Better Heads Tribunal .esm files. I read what the yellow meant, but I'm not sure how bad it is from the description. Is it something that I need to fix? Or is it just the red boxes that I need to worry about?

Thanks

It just means that the master files those mods are dependent on are different than what you have loaded. You can fix that by click on them, then in the box on the lower right and then the save button when it activates. That should turn them to green. You'll have to do both one at a time.

Ohh right right, I did click the box when I tried to fix it because I remember doing that from a while ago, but I forgot to click save. Thanks for the help

Another question if you guys don't mind:

When installing illuminated Windows as following the BTB directions, BTB calls for an .ini change in quadratic lighting, where QuadraticValue=http://forums.bethsoft.com/index.php?/topic/1095173-morrowind-for-2009/4.0 and QuadraticRadiusMulti=1.5. However, that's all he mentions, so does that mean that I need to set "UseQuadratic=1" and then change linear to "Use Linear=0"?

And just as a side question if anyone knows, are the Tamriel Rebuilt mods compatible with the BTB list of mods?

Thanks

Yeah, the only reason that's the only part I mentioned specifically in my list is that it's the only part that differs from the recommended settings. You have to disable linear lighting in order for quadratic lighting to work.

Incidentally, quadratic lighting seems to render all lighting-related fixes of the MCP unnecessary/useless.

And just as a side question if anyone knows, are the Tamriel Rebuilt mods compatible with the BTB list of mods?

Probably. As far as I know, TR doesn't actually screw with Vvardenfell proper, so there shouldn't be any issues.
