I have been searching through google and they keep mentioning that you have to download an emulater through the xbox official website.but before I do anything I just wanted to know if I can just pop the cd in and play it?.

I think it requires a certain xbox live update. I can't remember exactly, but I think it might prompt you to download the update when you try and play the game while connected to live.
