Morrowind Great Houses

Post » Sun May 29, 2011 1:58 am

Another one of my fun polls. My choice is pretty obvious.

Since Indoril and Dres never really had ties with the game, I figured it would fit better here than in the Morrowind forums.

Ingame, yes. However, if you agree with a certain house's idealism, you can consider yourself a member. Roleplay!

You can read up on Dres, Dagoth, and Indoril here

If I go for any at all, it tends to be Telvanni. The others don't hold much interest for me.

I always join Hlaalu. However I'll be joining Telvanni on my next play through. I haven't ever joined Telvanni and I've been playing for about 7 years.

Hlaalu.

Although I am somewhat anti-social and intellectually centered like the Telvanni, and I am somewhat pious like the Redoran.

If I were actually going by my own personal beliefs, it would probably be Hlaalu, though I'd be of those whose Imperial loyalty is actually real, the only business I'd ever consider having with the Commona Tong would be the kind that leaves their members dead. But I find Telvanni and Redoran to be more interesting as in-game factions, it just happens that the Redoran are too big on clinging to old traditions for me to agree with them, and the Telvanni are jerks.

In reality, though, which, if any, house I join depends on what suits my character. And really, if I had a choice, I'd probably just stay out of the great houses entirely, all that political stuff could make lots of enemies.

It should be noted that there are mods that allow you to join (or at least interact with) all the Houses.

Varies with the character but the one I like best and have joined most often is Redoran.

Definitely Hlaalu. You can really get some good fung shui in those stone houses with the right amount of greenery!

Based off of my personal beliefs and morals, I would probably join House Redoran, although I'm not really pious...at all.

On the other hand, I am academically inclined and kind of anti-social, so House Telvanni would be perfect for me!

Actually...if I could, I would totally use magic to prolong my life...Telvanni it is!

I would probably take everything to lightly to be accepted into House Redoran anyway.

I would be a Telvanni wizard with a strong sense of personal honour.

I'm not political, so Hlaalu's ideal. You keep the right friends, and they'll keep you. Then they mostly don't care what you do with your life. Telvanni's too zealous, in the later respect, and Redoran is too up tight with notions of honor, to even consider. They're perfectionists, taking themselves way too seriously. Dres, Dagoth, Dwemer and Indoril are also non factors.

I suppose Hlaalu is the middle ground.
