Morrowind guy needs some help!

Hy guys, I want to animate waterfalls like those in UL "Arius Creek". I PMed the author ages ago, but he never replied, so I'm asking here for some hint.

Modeling and animating those tiles is no problem for me, except one thing: How can you achieve to have the water texture move around curves??? I'm working with Blender and by changing the ofset of the texture I can only make it move on x,y axis or diagonal. Did you guys use follow-path animations or how was it done? Hopefully this techniue can be transfered to Morrowind, cause those waterfalls are awesome. ;)

PS: Dang, can't believe I'm posting in Oblivion section of the forum!!! :P

Ok, I think I figured it out. It's not an issue of animation, but of the right unwrapping method. As you see on the left half of the oicture the waterfall does a nice curve, but UV map is straight. That does the trick!!!

I suppose this all was done in 3ds max. Now my problem is, how can I reproduce this kind of unwrap in Blender, without having to push any single vert into correct position. Or was it even done manually in max, I don't know???

EDIT: Maybe it was just done the other way round, like make a straight planar mesh, unwrap it and then start to shape it into a curve. But that would mean texture will get stretched and those Arius Creek falls looked very clean to me???
