"Morrowind has encountered a problem. It needs to close.

Post » Thu May 03, 2012 2:03 pm

Morrowind installed fine on my Windows XP, and so did the TES Construction Set. However, every time I try to open either one of them, a message always pops up, saying, "Morrowind has encountered a problem and needs to close. Sorry for the inconvenience." I've tried setting different compatibilities and I also tried "Run as Administrator". Both times, neither program would work. I really want to play this game (and make mods :mohawk: !!!!), and I feel kind of helpless. I don't know any techical stuff about my computer or monitor, so please be as descriptive as you can! Thanks!
Stupid computer problems... :brokencomputer:

Go to your Morrowind directory (where you installed the game) and look for a file called 'warnings.txt'. Copy and paste everything in there to here.

I didn't install it into a folder or anything. I downloaded a copy on my flash drive and then put it in my computer. It installed fine and it went straight to my desktop...give me a bit longer...

I already did that...multiple times. With different compatibilities. And as I said, I also tried running morrowind as administrator...

Sorry, there's a shortcut on the desktop. It's installed in the "My Computer" folder. Otherwise, it's nowhere in particular.

Can you find the morrowind executable file (the game program) and paste the path in here?
