Morrowind Map question

Post » Thu Oct 11, 2012 10:56 am

Hi,

I think this is the correct forum to post this in, but I'm not sure, so please correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm currently designing a variant of an Internet board game using the Morrowind map. However, the head of the site has fears that it might run into copyright issues.

My question is this - is it alright to use the Morrowind map if 1) It's not used to make money and 2) It has a disclaimer? If so, what should be written on the disclaimer?

Thanks,
CM

It's strongly frowned upon to use game assets for another project without expressed consent. But, I'm not a lawyer so it's best to contact http://www.gamesas.com/user/365941-gstaff/ with questions of this sort.

Welcome to the forums, and enjoy your stay.

Question #1: if you are caught violating copyright you will be ordered to cease whether you are making money from your efforts or not.

Question #2: you are putting this question to the wrong people. You need to ask Bethesda whether they think your proposal is actionable. Contact Pete Hines or GStaff. They are the only ones qualified to answer this question. Disregard anything "armchair internet lawyers" say about this question in this thread.
