Morrowind menu problem

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 12:47 am

So, I've got a problem with my game. Silt Strider travel apparently messes up the menus and causes the game to freeze up when I open them. I really have no idea what the cause of this is, but if it has to do with my mods, I've got the Morrowind graphics and sound overhaul, that Julan Companion mod, Natural Magicka Regen, Dracandro's Voice, and The Prophecy of the Lost Heir. I know I'm not being very helpful, but if anyone has any ideas I'll be very glad.

It says something about a missing Foot file in the Better Clothes shoes part. I'll reinstall that mod, and see if that helps at all.

Missing Foot Part is a common problem with BC mod, they are harmless and reinstalling that mod won't remove the issue. There is a mod that makes so that there are no errows, but with it, feet show through shoes.

Nope. Not at all. Now it even messes up my screen's color and resolution. After the crash, I mean.

I had a similar issue with my game while modding the towns, but I never figured out a way to fix it, and it seemed to continue even if my mods were inactive. Eventually I just reinstalled the whole thing and that seems to have done the trick. Not sure if it is the most favorable path to follow but it is one option. All I can gather regarding this problem is that it might not be an issue with mods, but maybe something else. Perhaps it might be an error with some third party program? Anyway, good luck.

Post your full mod list. When does it happen? When the travel window comes up? After clicking a location to move to? Does it crash immediately or attempt to load the town or after arriving?

Same with the doors, does it crash when you look at the door? Crash when you click? Crash while loading? Crash after loading? Be detailed!

As for the other stuff, it's not terribly uncommon for a crashing fullscreen program that runs in a different resolution than your desktop is set to to occasionally leave the desktop in the programs run resolution. The color changes might be a shader from MGE or something.

Edit: Just reread the part about menus. I think I misunderstood thinking you had meant the travel or dialog menu. If the menu's are 'messed up' could you take a screenshot of them like that?

Edit edit: Also, do you have Wyre Mash installed? Can you check to make sure you don't have a GMST filled mod lurking about? I don't usually let them sit and ferment in my games, but I've heard they can cause some strangeness in menus and dialogs.

As Mytch says, please post your full mod list (from the bottom of morrowind.ini or from Wrye mash or from mlox or...) and the full contents of your warnings.txt

If you start a new game with no mods running do these problems occur? From what you're describing (menu problems, screen resolution and colour depth(?)) it seems unlikely to be a mod problem.
