FYI...I put up my interview with Fliggerty just now on the http://bethblog.com.

Nice interview!

This part made me laugh  "I was once asked if I search the forums for the word 'impossible' to get my mod ideas."

Ok, we've got me out of the way. Let's get on with the good interviews now. How about Phijama? I also agree about Vagabond Angel. And definitely Emma.

By request (and because of my oversight), I'm creating this thread for folks to recommend people I can interview for http://bethblog.com about their modding projects.

Here's a link to the http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=759308

I saw that AlienSlof has been mentioned several times. I'd like to give her another mention, as well. She does amazing work, especially since so much of it is done painstakingly by hand. :)

Edit: I wonder whatever happened to http://www.geocities.com/jw_mcguinn/armory.html of the Knights of Tamriel?

I looked through everyone's suggestions, and I agree with all of them--these are all really important members of the community, and I think being able to read some good interviews from them would be enlightening and enjoyable.

If I could only pick one of them, I would have to choose Emma. One might say that her presence among us--in her creativity, her persistence, and her dedication--is a testament to the very idea of "community." I feel that it would be especially meaningful to see an interview with her.

At the same time, I am really glad to know that we will get to have a series of such interviews. There are so many people that it would be great to hear from.

There are few people in the modding community that I hold in as high regard as I do RedwoodTreesprite.

Good interviews. Both this one with Darknut and the one you made earlier with Fliggerty. :)

Also, I recommend you to interview (still the ones that I mentioned in my first post) Midgetalien as well. :)

My Suggestions: Snakebitten, Cortex, Carnithus, Princess_Stomper, Qarl, UQForgotten (Best faces ever), Qarl, and Westly...Qarl.

I second/third/etc all the following:
Fligg, Princess Stomper, Connary, LGNPC Team, Darknut, and The Westly.

Since when did Westly get to be The Westly?!

Hmm, has no one mentioned Galsiah yet? Galsiah's Character Development is regarded as an essential mod by lots of players, and from his posts that I read here, I think he's got a lot of interesting things to say about game design in general.

I guess everyone's been here longer than you have, and are almost as tired of hearing my "interesting" views on game design as I am :D.

From a practical point of view, explanations/advice concerning the modding I've done would probably be useful to fewer prospective modders than the explanations/advice of others listed above. GCD has a pretty specific, niche focus - while its code resembles an unsightly skirmish between a black box, a lunatic and a truck full of spaghetti. It's an interesting illustration of what's possible, and works pretty well - but isn't going to have any relevance to 95% of modding projects. Neither does it lend itself to impressive screenshots. (I guess the pool table could, but that's just an absurd mini-game)

While I'm quite sure I could talk at length on game design, I'm less sure what anyone would gain from listening. In any case, I've recently resolved to stop talking quite so much, and start to put my time (and depressing absence of money) where my mouth is.

Very good read. Best wishes to AlienSlof, I didn't know about her health problems.

Special kudos to GStaff for asking the last question in the interview. It's obvious that this question will evoke some criticism on current products, but it does so in a very constructive way ("What would *you* do if you were in our shoes?"). Believe me - that someone was free to mention on an official Betjesda Blog that she perceived Morrowind's world as fuller and more varied, is a welcome change to the usual "marketspeak", and will mean a lot to many people in this community. So - thanks for the open-minded approach!

Saw the Wrye interview - nice to read more about someone who's given so much to both games. :)

I'd like to push another vote for princess_stomper. She'll done so much for modding and released so many great mods. I feel she has to be living in an area with 48 hrs. in each day.
