Morrowind Nexus up and running!

I use IE all the time and havent had a problem with that site.(ironically, it choked and reloaded the page when pressing the quote button after I typed that statement; some sort of java error, its gone now)

Sadly, Jac and I still pay by the MB over a certain amount each month and we are careful not to D/L anything more often than we need to.
This is terrible. I would never want an internet service like that. I can use >1gb of bandwidth in a single day if I am doing alot. The US svcks so damned much when it comes to the internet.(if you are not in the US or one of those island nations, I will be surprised as typically europe and elsewhere is ahead)

The trouble is because we live in a rural area of a huge country (yes, the US). It's not that the internet svcks for everyone, it's just that everyone here has the internet, in some form or another. In Okinawa, I was the first in my building to have fiber optic installed, so I got it free of charge for the duration of my lease. On the other hand, Okinawa, being an Island, had a limited number of trunks leading to the rest of the world and if one went down, the entire island's bandwidth was cut by that amount.

Anyway, that's all totally off-topic anyway. I just wanted to report the "bug" just in case there was something DarkOne could do about it. If not, no big deal.

Just opened IE and loaded the site perfectly fine, might be your comp thats the problem.

Hopefully. Thanks. I will try it on another PC.

Can you scroll smoothly? I find that morrowind nexus is 100x smoother in Chrome and Firefox than in IE.

But he has Windows, the most popular operating system! It can't be the OS causing problems, so many people use it!

It sounds like you have some kind of vendetta against Microsoft. That's fine, but please try not to decrease the SNR (signal-to-noise ratio) here.

Download history has been wiped on Morrowind Nexus, a side effect of the split. But I'll let you in with a secret; you don't need to download the entire file for your download to be recognised. Click the download; if the file is less than 2MB in size, cancel the download instantly. If it's larger than 2MB, get to the file mirror screen and then close it before downloading. The "download" has been registered on the site, but you haven't actually downloaded the file. The system is just in place to act as a deterrent for people to abuse it. There's no sure fire way of stopping abuse, so no point going to intricate and time consuming ways to try to prevent it above and beyond what's already being done.

As for scrolling issues in IE, this tends to affect a small minority of IE users. I don't know if it's to do with your computer specs or just an odd setup. Either way there's 2 fixes. The first is to go to your preferences on the Nexus and turn off the background image. It's the background image causing the problem (also why scrolling on these forums is bad for you as well...the background image). The second is to use a better browser. I test the sites in IE, FireFox and Chrome, so FF or Chrome is my recommendation.

I tried "No skin" in my preferences yet the background graphics do not go away. Is that the right setting?

BTW I hope it's a minority of IE users. No one will know to change their preferences. And the pain of getting registered just to have preferences may be to great to bother doing so.

Edit: the preference keeps changing back to "Default Skin" which is probably why it isn't working.
Edit #2: BTW when I enter a password IE doesn't ask if I want it to be remembered.

There is still this error from the newly released mods at this page: http://morrowind.nexusmods.com/downloads/recent.php
the new mods part has everything all bunched together horizontally.

Not sure if this is something with the site, but one of my mods has 2 unique downloads and only 1 total download.

I've been using computers for like 14 years or more, and all of them had Microsoft systems (DOS, 98, Me, XP, Vista) and I have nothing against them.

I have a problem with newest NMM.

On the Game Detection screen, it finds Morrowind Oblivons and Skyrim. I do not have Fallout 3 or New Vegas, so it says "Not Found!" and I can't even click OK to open the program, I can only click Cancel and it exits NMM.

Whoever made it so that Morrowind got its own Nexus site, you have made my day and weekend. Also, this deserves a video of dancing cats due to being awesome and stuff.

Just confirming your post in the French language. Then insulting IE. I need the practice. So I decided to reply in something you don't understand.

(mainly did it to see what would happen)
