Of course not. The game stays the same unless Betsoft would release a new patch, but MW GOTY (Xbox) already has the latest patch.

This is just a compatibility update to make MW playable on the X360. ;)

I used the CD method, as I didnt want to run out and get one of those XBOX live account activation cards from walmart. I blew ENOUGH cash on the system itself today.

You know you dont have to buy a gold account to access xbox live or get updates? You only need a pay account to play online multiplayer, you can still do everything else for free.

you still lose your saved games though.....I know about the way you can transfer the files over, but i don't see why you'd want to spend the money to do that if you have the OG Xbox anyway... I mean, it would be nice, but I don't think it's worth the cost just to do that.

On another note, does anyone know when the 360 is getting the upgrade (65nm processor, better fan)/price cut? I've heard rumors about it being around christmas, which makes sense, but i don't think any of them are confirmed. I just want to know, since I'll be buying one once i'm done with MW in order to play OB, but if I have to, I don't mind waiting another few months (since Halo 3 and Assassin's Creed will be out by the end of the year as well).

Thanks,
Sargeras

I played GOTY for a couple hours tonight. It does look sharper in 720p (though no widescreen of course) and the AA is helpful. I had no problems whatsoever.

I asked this before and again could not find an answer to it. Does MW Goty work with all the expansions (Bloodmoon, etc.)? I am sorry if this has been answered but I just could not find it. Thanks :)

^You weren't paying much attention since 3 or 4 people confirmed it.

I'm happy with this news... I have Oblivion and Morrowind both on the PC but I grew up a console gamer and always preffer that for whatever reason. I'll probably dive back in to Morrowind when I'm done with a couple of new releases and live it all over again.

As for how it runs and looks I would say great. The bump in res and AA helps and the only flaws so far on my end are the messed up save pictures and some flashing load screens.

(I am sorry for the poor video quality, and the jumpy capture-- My old BT787 capture card had to do all that work, and I have lousy capture codecs installed. Not to mention what YouTube did to it. But you get the idea. you CAN get there.)

I will find out tonight. Another useful tidbit that Mods should be made aware of, is that it *IS* possible to get the old saved games off their old console in a legal and legitimate manner.

Datel makes a product called http://us.codejunkies.com/news_reviews.asp?c=US&cr=USD&cs=$&r=0&l=1&p=8&i=8990&s=8 that sits between the 360 hard drive unit, and the 360 itself, and allows apparently direct access to the HDD unit. As my signature may suggest, I have my own reasons for being interested in this product, but because this is a commercial product and not a hackjob, I feel it should be mentioned here, since it could save MANY users a good deal of greif.

So you can't just transfer your character to the 360 using the Xbox memory unit? Will this XSATA thing allow you to transfer characters from the Xbox to the 360? aside from what you described below?

Look a couple posts above. The Datel XSATA product lets you push saved games onto the xbox360 drive. Datel makes another, now obsolete product which can also be obtained from that vendor called "Action Replay XBOX", which lets you plug old XBOX memory units into it and pull saved games off. Combined, you can put your old Morrowind saved games onto the XBOX memory device, push it to a PC, then use the XSATA device to push the saved game to the 360 hard drive. No need to lose that old character just because Microsoft decided to change memory card formats.

:P

I am home and doing my testing now. Game of the Year edition.

I used the CD method, as I didnt want to run out and get one of those XBOX live account activation cards from walmart. I blew ENOUGH cash on the system itself today.

The CD method of installing the update worked like a charm.

The original XBOX memory units are physically incapable of being attached to the 360. With the ActionReplay XBOX device, you can attach the old XBOX memory units to a PC, however. The XSATA device ALSO attached to a PC.

The process is:

1) Fire up that old XBOX 1 without a disc in the drive, and with a memory card stuck into a controller.

2) Copy all those old saved games to the memory card

3) Attach the memory card to the Action Replay XBOX, and pull all of the saves off.

4) Attach the XSATA between the 360HDD and the XBOX360, then connect a USB cable. Load the drivers on the PC.

5) Extract the contents of the ZIP files that the old ActionReplay XBOX software creates when it backs up old XBOX saved games, and push the extracted files and folders to the 360's hard drive.

6) Fire up the 360 with morrowind in the drive, and load up the transfered saved game.

Yes-- For people that dont want to, or have really slow internet connections, MS allows people to create their own CD that can update the system software of the console, without having to use XBOX LIVE!. the link was given earlier in this thread. The method works like a charm.

*EDIT*

I will have visual confirmation of Tribunal Expansion an hour or so after I get home tonight. I FINALLY got attacked by a DB assasin before work today, but didnt have enough time to do a capture and upload to YouTube. I will have the time tonight after work.

I recently got morrowind for the PC, but the game went all screwey on me and I deleted it. Luckily I managed to find GOTY edition for the xbob online and am waiting for it to be delivered. After playing oblivion for a year I'm looking forward to getting my grubby mits on morrowind. I'll finally have a chance to get into this game.

EDIT:Come to think of it, I could have just got morrowind for my original x box. I guess it's just more convenient this way.

I'm extraordinarily happy I can play it on my 360 now, but a tad disapointed that in order to get it full screen on my 720 HD TV I have to reduce the resolution to 480... None the less I believe it's technically HD if you leave it at 720 and don't mind the black edges around the box that is the game. Must have taken a rather large team to make this happen given the complexity of the game and its already large quantity of glitches.

I agree, considering I have been testing its stability on the 360 for the past 3 days. It has been running CONTINUOUSLY for that time, just with the game paused while I am at work. Been working nicely. MUCH longer than you can play with the PC version so far.

When you save and its normally supposed to take a min snapshot of your screen, instead you get a small picture that looks like it went through a scrambler. I'm going to continue to post all the small little problems I find while playing, as I said I'm very happy, but still I think constructive critisism is usefull.

That's a TV issue... some new TVs allow you to stretch, zoom or crop HD signals but they're rare and the more expensive sets. Morrowind actually looks really good cropped on the top and bottom, called Wide Zoom on my Sony, so I agree it svcks not to be able to do that.
