Morrowind or Oblivion.

I like oblivion so I am not trolling on it (well sorta like it). But I definitly prefer Morrowind. I know it is a hot/cpntested topic so I would like you to please be civil for the sake of your fellow forum members.

I don't think it's so controversial now as it was when it was released.

At any rate, I prefer Morrowind to Oblivion. Probably Nostalgia kicking in, but it's difficult for me to get bored with Morrowind.

If we're talking about the vanilla game, I prefer Morrowind
If we're talking about the modded game, I prefer Oblivion.

Defiantly Morrowind. The world is more interesting, more factions, quests, weapons and armor, and above all no level scaling.

Probably even less controversial after getting this exact poll every day for the last 4 years.

Actually, under Bethesda Softworks/Morrowind there's a folder called "saves."

You can delete them from there.

I prefer Morrowind as well, but Oblivion made some pretty amazing improvements. If they could break back clothing under armor, seperate armor peices, morrowind enchanting/spell making, and merge that with Oblivion it would be perfect!

Oblivion, I wish I could forget it, just so I could experience it again.

Morrowind. Oblivion has been weighed, measured, and has been found wanting. (Cookie 4 U if you get the reference) ;)

Someone watched A Knight's Tale one too many times. XD

Even unmodded I still prefer Morrowind. Oblivion was fun, but it was missing something.

Oblivion

There are so many improvements to controls, graphics, gameplay mechanics, having a compass, fast travel, quests and (even animations...) The game feels more balanced and was way more immersive in the beginning teaching you how to play but after that was over letting you discover what to do next in comparison morrowind took me 10 hours to finally get into. There are really good quests in the game that felt really memorable to me the only quests in morrowind I remember were the rat quest and an early mages guild fetch mushrooms quest... In oblivion I remember the assassins guild party which was really fun to play with and the thieves guild final heist was awesome!

Morrowind was a fun great game but when Oblivion came out I never looked back.

Oblivion.I felt it had an actual story line. In Morrowind I felt like I was just plopped in the world and they said there you go have fun. I always struggled to find out what to do and when I figured it out, I had no idea why I was doing it.

Can you add a option for those few of us who can't decide?

It seems every time I play each game I get drawn into it and think it's my favorite. I know there are some people thinking the two games can't possibly be equal, but for me I can't put a number of pros and cons to how the whole games feel to me in general.

I would pick Morrowind in vanilla state.

However, when it comes to Overall Vanilla of all four games, I would not hesitate to vote Daggerfall due to the combination of high characteristic build, dungeon runs, generated quests, the decent Main Quest, and the size of the world itself.

Like-wise, when it comes to Modded, Modded Oblivion win by a feet compared to Modded Morrowind.

the enemies scaling with your level was a great idea this means that you will never have no use for one place because you can always train anywhere.

Morrowind is winning but what did you expect? People on the Bethesda forums do like it more for some weird reason. Goh

I prefer Oblivion.

Morrowind by a long, long long shot.

As much as I love Oblivion (and trust me I love Oblivion) I never felt as submerged in the game as I did with Morrowind.

With Morrowind I always felt this overwhelming sense of unease and mystery whenever I walked down a road, into a tavern or down a dungeon. Going into a fight I always thought "oh [censored]".

However the main thing that really grabbed me with Morrowind was the story. The main quest in Morrowind is something I will remember for the rest of my life. Every time I hear the music to Morrowind I forget all my troubles in the world and can sit back and take a deep breathe.

Oblivion blew me away but eventually left me feeling underwhelmed. However, I really do believe the TES series needed Oblivion to reach the next level of grandeur that will be TESV the devs learnt a great deal in my eyes from their failures (and successes) with TESIV.

This is tough. It took Oblivion for me to "get" Morrowind because my 1st trip to Vvardenfell was on an Xbox and lasted about an hour. I gave it a 2nd shot after a few 100 hours of Oblivion and I then found that Morrowind surpasses Oblivion on a couple of key aspects. I think Morrowind has a slight edge GOTY vs GOTY and a wider win if you compare just the launch day offerings.

Well I like both games, while OB had more advanced and upgraded features like the combat system and things of that nature, it lacked the depth that morrowind had.

So in the end I give the vote to morrowind.
