[RELz] Morrowind Overhaul - Sounds & Graphics 3.0 by KIN

Post » Wed May 08, 2013 11:21 am

It just adds entries in the ini for some mods, like the sounds and so on.
The exact changes are found in the Data Files\A-Morrowind Graphics Overhaul - Install.mit file.

Just a quick question:

Which mod adds the flora_bc_tree_01 trees? I love them, they're beautiful, my game looks amazing...but one of them is growing almost right up the middle of the stairs to my Balcony House in Balmora. I'd like to just go into the esp and delete the one tree since the rest are fine, I'm just not sure which esp it is.

  • Open console
  • Click on the offending tree
  • type witout quotes, "disable" and hit enter
quick fix to a one-off problem.

Why did I completely forget that disable exists? That certainly would be a lot easier than dragging up an entire region's worth of trees to find one. Thanks!

Yeah, disable/setdelete, setscale, and ori are lifesavers.

This is just awesome. Returning to Morrowind after 1,5 years with a new rig, MGSO is a tribunal gods send. The installation went smoothly and it seems to be working as advertised (my char is still on the ship, though). Anyway, I already have two quick questions:

1. There's a black border around screen. How do I get full screen?
2. There seems to be some kind of blur effect, i.e. NPCs a couple of meters away are somewhat blurred. This seems to be "fixed" when they are up and close (the guard leading you up to the deck was a bit blurry first, but snapped into sharpness when approaching). Can this be controlled somehow?

Anyway, tons of thanks for this project!

Black border is probably because you've set a resolution that can't 'stretch' to the monitor's screen. Try rerun the MGEXEgui.exe and set another?

The blur effect is the depth of field shader option, you can remove it by running MGEXEgui.exe clicking Shader Setup button and double clicking on depth of field in your active shaders to remove it.

Thanks! Sorry for noobness. Yes, the second one is probably the Depth of Field shader. It turned out to be very easy to configure shaders via MGEXE.gui. I'll experiment around a bit.

I'm running on 1920 x 1080, which is my native resolution. The border is still there when changing to 1600x900 - and also if choosing 1920 x 1080 in windowed mode. Not much else I can do that I see.

EDIT: Fixed by launching the game via FPS Optimizer instead, so all is good.

EDIT 2: It looks completely amazing!

How do I easiest remove a particular mod added by MGSO? In this case, I'd like to remove Better Sounds. If I just remove the esp, I of course still have it's resources installed - and if I remove them manually, I might remove some shared resources used by another mod.

There is no problem if the removed mods resources are present. Just uncheck the mod and you are good to go.

OK, thanks! Sort of miss the full control you have over installed mods with Wrye Bash/Oblivion.

In the next update I'm including an updated MGSO Options.exe (that you can use even now, it's in your MW folder), with a function to disable every single mod.
Better Sounds is added with the "New Game Sounds" option, btw.

Yes, I installed the standalone versions as I got confused trying to find Python25 - but Wrye's installer "crashes" when I click on packages, so I'm sort of stuck there.

Excellent. So I chose "New Game Sounds" during the install of MGSO? Might start over if so, as I've barely started the game yet. I've never found a "sound overhaul" to my liking.

You can disable it even after you already installed. Run MGSO Options and click change MGSO Settings.
But before doing so please wait the patch, it fixes a lot of bugs in that tool.
If you can't wait I'll send you a patched exe.

Ah, right. No, I can wait - I'll just have the esp's hidden until the patch.

After returning to Morrowind after a year long hiatus, I find Morrwind Overhaul on version 3.0! Huzzah!

Installer works great!

My one question at this point: how do I delete the cat sounds out of the town ambient noises. I'm pretty sure I was able to do that in an earlier version.

Okay, this is probably more request than question:

Whatever mods are included in this overhaul have excellent textures, but a decent portion of the armors have no female meshes. There seems to be a Female Armor Complete mod, and I've got it active, but digging in it, it leaves several sets untouched, which means when my female PC puts them on, I get a very noticeable and very jarring transformation to a hulking male warrior, at least from the neck down. Chitin and DB I have looked at in game for certain, but there are others from what I'm looking at in here. Is it at all possible to get permission from some other modder who made a more extensive sweep on female armor meshes to use their mod in MGSO? I'm familiar enough with modding I can go hunt down Divine Domina or something on my own, but for ease of access for those not as familiar with it who play female characters, it might be nice.

Late Edit: Scratch that about DD. The textures the author did replace clash pretty badly with the ones that MGSO puts in that the author did not replace. Gloves, boots, pauldrons, in the case of DB, for example. Shame that Plankgye didn't do some addons to this Female Armor Complete mod, as the ones that were done are amazing.
