[RELz] Morrowind Overhaul - Sounds & Graphics 2.0

Post » Fri May 04, 2012 4:52 am

You don't need to merge them together, just unzip the installer out of the first file, launch it, then choose your morrowind directory and it will do the rest automatically.

I was doing that but it wasn't working; I thought I was doing something wrong. It's telling me it can't find MOInstaller.exe after it extracts.

EDIT: I've found it. It's in my quarantine folder - it was identified as a trojan again. Is it safe to restore it?

Yeah it is safe. I just ran it again myself. I just scanned it with security esssentials and nothing harmful was detected.

I've got it more or less working now, though I don't think it's quite right. Thanks for all the help!

My shader order in MGE XE 0.98 thus:

SSAO HQ
Underwater Interior Effects
Underwater Effects
Bloom Soft
Eye Adaptation (HDR)

Below Water Fog Settings: Start 0.2 End 1.2

If that doesn't work to give you the sunrays through the water let me know.

hum.. is SSAO HQ really worth over SSAO Fast? does the higher number of samples really makes a difference?

I notice no framerate difference, so for me it is worth it.

When you leave unextracted files in winrar untouched for too logn without doing anything to them, it will keep saying that and you'll have to redownload, of course this is down right appalling with larger downloads :wallbash:

Did you try the forum? Or, there is a youtube instructional that has all the links that you will need. Try this:http://www.youtube.com/user/phantomryu

First off, thanks for the shoutout! Second, I thought I'd provide a direct link to the playlist, in the event that I shuffle around my featured videos, I'd like everyone to be able to find what they need.

Hey guys, I did a complete fresh install of Morrowind GOTY earlier today, and I also got MSGO installed fine as well, but as I booted up Morrowind, I got these errors:

"Failed to create shader Shaders\TexCoord_4_Offset_A.vso
Failed to create shader Shaders\TexCoord_4_Offset_A.vso
Failed to create shader Shaders\WC_TexCoordGen.vso
Failed to create shader Shaders\FauxEMBM_Displace_2.pso

Unable to load pixelshader file: FauxEMBM_Displace_2.pso
Failed to create shader Shaders\FauxEMBM_Displace.vso

Unable to load vertexshader file: FauxEMBM_Displace.vso
Texture "Textures\_land_default.tga" count 3.
Texture "Data Files\Textures\menu_button_frame_rightsbdark.bmp" count 2."

What exactly am I doing wrong here? Sorry for the noob question, this is my first time installing this mod

Check out this thread on the official forums for MGSO. It should fix most of your problems.

Did you run the installer as an administrator?

I got damaged files errors while trying to extract. Hopefully this is fixed by my 4th download of this. (I'm getting the 4 parts this time thank God!)

IMPORTANT!!! READ THIS IF YOU HAD EXTRACTING PROBLEMS!!!

If you couldn't even extract the installer, download the MGSO with a faster browser and/or connection. If the download isn't fast enough, the download will sometimes terminate itself or make a bad transfer to your PC. I learned the hard way! You don't have to!

I believe there is a document that lists every mod included more or less, including who originally made it and where you can find the original, I think there's a link somewhere on either the main post of this thread or the PES page for MGSO. Or maybe it was on their main site. cba to find it for you, sorry

It's a very long list.

Hey can someone recommend which setup's I should do.
I have tried a few times and I keep getting around 15 fps, I want at least 25 fps.
PC specs
Processor- AMD Phenom? II X4 955 Processor
Memory (Ram)- 8GB
Graphics- AMD Radeon HD 6570

If there is anymore specs you want me or need me to post tell me and I will.
THx
P.S I Have evey texture pack for skyrim at max,Realistic lighting mods, Higher poly mods, and alot more.
So I think I could run a game that came out 10 years ago.

More info..
Steam version.

..
You might turn of ssao in exterior cells.
Go to MGE XE->graphics->shader setup->available shaders->ssao->editor->edit shader flags->disabled in exteriors
Well I only guess, but some shaders need a lot of power....

Else...lower draw distance, skip mip maps...whatever.

When you go to do the automatic setup it will ask you, how good you computer is.
there are 4 option I have tried good and beast and I get the same fps.
I have also read that turning off water ripples wil give better performance.
Still no change in fps.
I have tried MGE XE and MGE and I can get about 2 fps better with MGE XE.
I have no other mods installed, nothing in the back ground running.

What if you turn of shaders entirely (set a macro for shaders: Ingame Tab:->macro editor->*choose a key*-> function->toggle shaders....now you can turn off shaders ingame with a single key)?
I gain around 5-10 fps with all shaders off.

I believe this must have some kind of effect...in case you use shaders at all in the first place.
