KingPix and the Morrowind Overhaul Team are proud to present...

Morrowind Overhaul - Sounds and Graphics 2.0

As for the first release, the mods included in this package were NOT created by KingPix, and the creators of every single mod are credited in the credit list, included within this package. The biggest thanks go to whole Morrowind modding community for the amazing mods the've created in these almost 10 years of activity!

This new version of the Sounds and Graphics compilation features many new and great improvements from the graphical point of view, but it's mainly characterized by a new and totally automatic installer, which will make a lot easier the process of installing the compilation, a matter of just some clicks
Another very great and important innovation is our autoupdater, which will allow the automatic download and setup of the next patches.
So basically what's left to you is the pure gaming experience

As always, feedback is important much appreciated, and don't hesitate to report anything which seems bugged, broken or that you suspect is not working as it should. You can do this both on our topic on the official Bethesda Forum or on our Morrowind Overhaul official forums at it's new home on RPGItalia (thank you Golgoth). You can find it here:
http://forum.rpgitalia.net/index.php?showforum=83

So guys, we hope you will enjoy this experience even more, and thank you everybody for your support!

KingPix, the Morrowind Overhaul Team and the Morrowind community

I'm playing my first character with MGSO installed. I headed up to Solstheim to begin the Raven Rock questline, and 'mined' some ebony for Falco. This was the first time I've ever encountered an altered mining mechanic - the first activation of the ebony mines the exterior lumps off the ore. The ore may or may not still have have pieces inside (as indicated by a plain or "mineraly" texture); if more is inside, a message pops up saying "You need mining tools to extract more ore" or something to that effect? Which mod alters this mechanic? I can't find anything obvious in the credits list, just an herbalism mod that I assume does the same thing for plants? I assume all I need is a pick axe in inventory?...

I originally posted this on your official forums but...well I'm not really sure whats going on there:
1. I have a horizontal line across my game when I'm outside. It seems to be the water, but in a line above the land. If you don't know what I'm talking about, I'd be happy to provide a screenshot.

2. I noticed on the FAQ there was something about enhancing performance when running MGEXE. But the link was dead, is there still a page on enhancing performance when running MGSO?

And I'd like to say I was completely blown away despite the horizontal line across my screen. I literaly sweated when I loaded it up. This is truley the most amazing thing I've seen.

3. (EDIT), the auto update says it can't connect to the server.

Hello Im trying to reinstall MSGO and I used the 2.0 installer I already had. Trying to update it but it says the server isnt online.

Is this a temporary issue or should I download the 2.01 installer and redo my install?

Thanks.

I would re-do the install, but only because Kingpix has been away dealing with RL and didn't say when he'd be back.

Quick reply, spread this as much as you can (I've got only a few minutes).

Here's a mirror of the full and updated package.
See ya soon I hope.

I'll be glad if someone can post this in the main thread of MGSO, too. Thanks.

Kingpix

Mind you, the page is in Italian, but the big green button that reads "Download" is all you need.

Thanks Kingpix!

So i am playing with darker nights, the only problem is it makes interiors, even in the middle of the day way too dark. It just doesn't look right that the shops in a big city would look that dark in the middle of the day.

I, as well, am doing my first playthrough with the "darkness enhancing" mod enabled... I found it quite bewildering to be walking through tunnels of some underground mine in complete blackness, only able to tell where I was based on the minimap, and even bumping into people. "Oh, sorry, didn't see you there. In fact, I would have walked right by if your name label hadn't momentariliy broke my line of sight." A bit silly, no? And I don't even WANT to know what those people were doing in the complete darkness.

Easy fix - get a cheap ring enchanted with CE night eye. 10 or 20 will do the trick. Only wear it if necessary in really dark places. Otherwise, you can justify the soul-crushing indoor darkness by remembering that Morrowind doesn't have electricty. And, no, candles don't put out many http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Candle_%28unit%29.

Also it looks like from version 1.2 to version 2 the vivec-velothi buildings have been totally retextured, does anyone know what mod the older version of MGSO used? Especially for the Velothi buildings in the grazelands.

I belive it was AOF's textures in 1.2 (http://tes.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=29461).. Biont's in 2.1.

Hi I have installed the MOSG2 but when I go to load a saved game i get this message "Local count from script 'OutsideBanner' differs from local count for saved reference data. Contnue running executable?"

Unlike other "Contnue running executable" warnigns this one doesn't go away when I click OK (nothing happens except a pinging noise). Please can someone let me know how I can deal with this?

Thanks!

Is MGSO 2.0 Compatible with Necessities of Morrowind? Or will i get floating tree issues etc?

It should be compatible with it, because it doesn't change the landscape shape or add any new buildings.

But if you use the Vality mods includes in MGSO, that's different, and yes at this time it can have conflicts with NoM.

So the vality mods DO change the landscape and therefore can cause problems?

Taddeus included compatibility patches for the grass mods which include the Moldy Horker, Food of the Gods, and his food route areas. I use NoM and MGSO and have not noticed any landscaping issues, but then again, I'm not very picky either. Just because I didn't notice, doesn't mean they aren't there. Nothing worse than floating grass I'm sure, though.

Yes, it's a known problem.

But I know it exist patch and also version of the Vality mods without edits on the lanscape shape.
Maybe ask to Knots.

If that is the file in the link from the post I quoted in post #7 of this thread, then it is the correct file.

yeah its all working, I can't believe how good this auto installer is!! Thank you, creators!

EDIT: I'm really sorry to be a pain, but please can someone help me, I've followed the guide, everything is fine, the only thing is, I set my resolution to 1366x768 during the installer, but when I run the game, its set to 640x480 by default under the launcher, and that's what the main screen looks to be running at, and the highest resolution I can select on the launcher is 1024x768...

Any ideas?
