[BETA/WIPz] Morrowind Overhaul - Sounds & Graphics

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 8:23 am

Is this intended that it is looking for ProgramFlow.txt and Warnings.txt there, or should it be looking for them in the Morrowind root directory?

I managed to finish the installation up to the point the guide ends with no more errors. A few things were out of order in the guide, like the Morrowind Code Patch actually came up before the MoRRoWiNi, but it didn't make any difference. I'm not sure if I want to mess with MGE just yet, so I may wait until the guide is finished to do that.

I'm translating the MGE part right now, if my brain doesn't fail me it will be done in an hour :)

I placed morrowini and code patch in the right order so it will match the installation process, thank you for the report!

Have you also include the armors with reflective's texture by AnOldFriend? http://www.mediafire.com/?57jwu8x9xlbla6d
And also his Imperial Housing Retextured, Hlaalu Retextured, Shacks and Docks Retextured? or even his potion's mod ^^

Or this mod => http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=25770

Its a matter of taste by the way :foodndrink:

Have you include the latest version of Illuminated Windows? the version1.2.
Because the readme include is for the version 1.0.

Yes, Illuminated Armors is included :)
I find some txtures from AOF a bit dark, but I'm going to retry Shacks & Docks :) Thanks.

Oh, and Lazy's Grand Solstheim is included too! :)

I'll read over it tonight and probably PM you tomorrow if I find anything. :)

Absolutely. There will be issues that pop up later, but good testing has saved many a man's soul and sanity. ;)

I have limited space (250 gigs, of which I hardly use 1), but that shouldn't be a problem. Just let me know when things are done. It may not be the fastest world-wide (you might try dropbox for that), but it isn't too slow.

Thanks for the help peachy :)

Once this is in a stable state you should go to all the news sites like that Morowind 2011 guy did and post this. I'm probably not going to use it for my next playthrough but I did find some handy mods to put in my game from your mod list (I just finished setting my game up to something I really like and am comfortable with). This is a sweet compilation and I'd recommend it to any new MW players (which seems to happen a lot these days what with the constant cheap sales of the game on Steam. I wish we had Steam like it is now back when MW first came out...)

Thanks for your advices!
Once stable we will post into news sites and so on!

Couple of things on the first install. Am getting... http://dl.dropbox.com/u/10761152/submitted/error_programflow.jpg ...

ProgramFlow.txt error after completing section 3.2, step 4 (error appears before the window is supposed to appear in step 5). I am running a freshly installed copy of Morrowind, and will keep testing this pack out tonight/tomorrow. I am not really sure what ProgramFlow.txt contains, but in previous installs I had noticed that it was generated sometime after starting Morrowind for the first time. Maybe add something to the install guide about this? I'm sure you can find the right fix for the issue, and I'll be trying this again yet w/ ProgramFlow.txt in the directory.

Also, the guide references installing from MGSO_Install, when the file is named MGSO_Installer. Minor, but I figured I'd point it out.

I seem to have encountered a problem. When I run the MSGO_Installer, it appears to complete the installation, but it says:

Morrowind Overhaul - Sounds and Graphics has not been totally installed because of the following reason:
ProgramFlow.txt: The system cannot find the file specified.
You will have to run this utility again to completely install Morrowind Overhaul - Sounds and Graphics.

And the window that is supposed to come up afterward never does.

:anotherfacepalm:
Doh, I included some files that didn't exist, probably I was tired :banghead:
I uploaded a fixed installer here, before uploading the stable release: http://www.4shared.com/file/6XM0D4xa/fidexinstaller.html
Thanks for the report.

I'm not sure if I want to mess with MGE just yet, so I may wait until the guide is finished to do that.

I'll fix that in a second :)

Thank you for these reports and advices!

Wow, I must admit I'm really amazed by those screenshot. It's obvious how much work everyone put into this package when you look at them, everything just blends together so well!
Right now, I'm in process of downloading, and registered just to thank everyone who worked on the Overhaul. And ask one question :). Is it compatible with Polish version of Morrowind? I've got original Morrowind: Gold Edition (I think it's pretty much the GOTY since it contains both Tribunal and Bloodmoon).
Best regards from Poland ;).

it will be compatible but in order to have a cleaner install, i would suggest you to have installed the game in english language. just to avoid ugly language jumps. if the polish version of the game is only in english language (as our :D ) then you won't have troubles!

I'm not 100% sure since I never tried it with other languages. (Italian translation is a plugin file, so the Morrowind main file is identical to english version)
By the way I assume it will work, but some texts will be retranslated into english :)

LosBadylos, some mods are compatible with Polish version, but most of the time you need to use http://www.elderscrolls.com.pl/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=309&Itemid=237 by Magnus on ESP/ESM files and than recompile scripts in CS. If you have any problem with converter just ask your question in the Clockwork City forum.

Big thanks for answers guys, I'm glad to hear that it should work. Playing Morrowind in English shouldn't be much of a problem for me, but the thing is that the Polish version contains only Polish language, sadly no English :(. That's a shame that our translation isn't in a form of a plugin file, but oh well, that's not a big problem, those untranslated things won't be much of an annoyance for me ^_^
Thanks for the answers guys, 45% still left to download and I'm impatiently waiting to replay Morrowind, thanks one more time for such a beautiful work :)

I just made a backup and give this glorious pice of work a try. I'm downloading the English version from steam right now.

Maybe I'm able to make it work with the german version. If so, I will inform you about the necessary steps. Maybe you can upload it to... :)

Hi,I believe I followed your installation guide to the letter, but unfortunately when I launch morrowind I get following warnings. Would I be able to fix these somehow?

Only time I got problem while installing this mod was while running "exe optimizer", I got tons of errors, but I ignored them all and continued to the next step. Was that a problem?

BTW thank you very much guys for putting this great mod together, this is actually the first time I'm going to play Morrowind so I'm pretty excited about it.

Anyway, here's the list of warnings I got. Thanks.

but not necessarily fix any errors.

One of the files that "TLM - Light Sources (Lanterns).esp" is dependent on has changed since the last save.

One or more plugins could not find the correct versions of the master files they depend on. Errors may occur during load or game play. Check the "Warnings.txt" file for more information.

Hi there!
For the exe opt. yes, it's ok, run it again after the installation process :)
You can ignore these warnings, and you can get rid of them by saving a new savegame.

These errors will remain:
Not able to find Foot part in BC_shoes_common_1.
Not able to find Foot part in BC_shoes_common_4.
Not able to find Foot part in BC_shoes_common_4.
Not able to find Foot part in BC_shoes_common_4.
Not able to find Foot part in BC_shoes_common_4.
Not able to find Foot part in BC_shoes_common_4.
Not able to find Foot part in BC_shoes_common_5.
Not able to find Foot part in BC_shoes_common_1.
Not able to find Foot part in BC_shoes_extrav_2_f.
Not able to find Foot part in BC_shoes_common_03.
Not able to find Foot part in BC_shoes_common_03.
Texture "Textures\Tx_BC_mud.tga" count 3.
Texture "Data Files\Textures\tx_bc_rock_03_nrm.dds" count 3.
Texture "Textures\_land_default.tga" count 3.
Texture "Data Files\Textures\vurt_fire.dds" count 3.
Texture "Textures\menu_thick_border_bottom_right_corner.dds" count 2.

But they are 100% safe and they don't popup any error message :)

It works very well indeed. I had alot of trouble getting MGE beta to work, it always caused a "MGEgui has stopped working", but I think removing the MGEgui dll-files, then starting a new game, and then placing the dll-files back makes it work.

Oh, and also I really think you should add some underwear-models instead of nvde models. I can't see any reason why I or other people should be looking at dongs all over the place.

But good mod, yeah.
