[RELz] Morrowind Overhaul - Sounds & Graphics

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 3:59 am

Everything worked fine until I was going to start MGE. Then it says " MGE has stopped working".
What can I have done wrong?

i guess you didnt read the FAQ ....?

quote:
MGEGui doesn’t work!

This could happen if you didn’t followed every step of the installation guide: you need to install every system component in order to make MGE run. Check the first part of this guide.
If you installed everything then you probably need to:

- run Morrowind Launcher as administrator
- set a casual resolution from the options menu
- Run MGEgui as administrator (and maybe better in xp-compatibility mode)

In order to run a program as administrator you need to right-click on the executable and choose Run as administrator. A better solution (on Windows 7/Vista) is disable the UAC.

Guess what? I did, but none of the didnt work. Anyway. I could start the MGEUI if a used the stable version. But when I start the game a error pops up that says it coudnt load "BM_Snow_nif01" ( or something like that ).
But that was weird, becuse when I played Morrowind without mods it worked, but now it dont.

thats funny, because about this is also something in the FAQ :P

I’m getting a strange error: “Failed to load snowflake: Meshes\BM_Snow_01.nif”

You have to copy/paste the following text in your Morrowind.ini file (you can find it in the Morrowind folder), under the [Level Up] section:

[Archives]
Archive 0=Tribunal.bsa
Archive 1=Bloodmoon.bsa
Archive 2=Flora Glow.bsa

i had the same problem that only the stable mge did work, after setting the resolution in the launcher to a standard res it worked... just start everything as admin under vista/7 ... if its not working after this, update all those things that the MGE faq says...

What exactly is wrong with the 1.1 patch? I downloaded and installed it when it was still up and I haven't noticed anything wrong.

He forgot to include the files for the "No MGE" mode, and that breaks the MGOO options program. It's an easy fix so long as you still want to use MGE, but if you don't you'll have to wait a bit longer :P

Hi, I'm new to modding and I'm trying your mod pack. While applying the patch, I keep receiving warning message from my virus scan saying that a security risk was detected by the name of fpu.exe . I looked around and didn't see anything on the subject. Is it normal to get this message while installing and what happens if your virus scan keeps removing it during the patch.

Thank you in advance

Every time I try to use the installer (Steam Version) I get this error:

Mlox\msvcr71.dll: The system cannot find the path specified.

Others ahve complained about this in the comments section of your mod, but they were never answered. I dearly would like to run this mod. Thanks in advance.

You didn't extract the Installation Folder somewhere, for example in the desktop. DO NOT extract it in the Morrowind directory.

Go under the Becnhmarker tab of the exeoptimizer and turn off it by unchecking the box.

So, any idea what you'll put in the next patch? :P

Or are you going to work on the Game Experience Overhaul now?

Hmmm, mostly some updates!
Vurt's groundcover, ascadian trees, and some nice mods for the sounds, that I missed before :)

Sounds pretty sweet! Should I be worrying about restarting anytime soon for the game experience overhaul, or is that pretty far off?

I really don't know right now.
The next week I'm going to skiing. When I come back home (the 5th of March), I'm going to work hard on the Game Experience pack.
Surely it will be an hard work, but the ETA only depends on how many incompatibilities and problems I will encounter :)

Just to let you know the game experience part should be far more difficult to do and have far more compatibility problems then the graphics and sound. There are far more ways that they can be incompatible and compatibility problems are far more difficult to solve especially with quest mods.

Yeah we already know that, but I'm sure that something good can be done :)

One mod you should definitely look at including is http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=7574. Replaces the magic sounds with much more pleasant sounds.

Also http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=7899 is amazing, really adds to the music experience. The extra music packs are great and you can configure it to also use the original game music.

I made a new installation and ran the unmodified morrowind with no problems. I then went through the entire install and ended up with this error:

Failed to load snowflake: Meshes\BM_Snow_01.nif

It is of course a Bloodmoon mesh that seems to be missing. Anyone have any ideas about this? Seems strange since I didn't get the error with the unmodded MW+TB+BM

you have to go to faqs in the instruction guide and that in turn takes you to kingpixs site and once there read through the faqs.
