Post » Tue May 17, 2011 12:44 am

Hey Kingpix, I just updated to 1.1 of your overhaul, but now my MGSO Options doesn't work properly anymore. When I click apply, I get this error.

Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click quit, the application will close immediately.

Acces to the path 'D:\Morrowind\mge3\Polish.ing' is denied.

When I rerun the application again, all my settings have been changed to your default settings again. What can I do about this?

Probably you have installed rev178 of mge before.
Simply go to Morrowind\mge3\polish.lng and untick "read-only" (right click -> properties)

That's a stupid thing, i think that in the next release I'll include a batch file that removes the read only during installation :/
Just for those who have installed mge rev 178 from sourceforge.

Thank you KINGPIX and everyone else involved with the Overhaul. I installed the original 1.0 mod and the new patch this weekend, no problems thanks to the documentation and new YouTube video, and...wow, Morrowind now looks and sounds amazing. Great work to assemble this set of compatible mods and make them work so well together.

Which mod did you use for the ashland textures? I checked the credits list but I couldn't find it, so I assume it was one of the things you took from the credited texture packs.

Yes, those textures are a mix from the Visual Packs and http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=8722, but I don't remember the exact texture names.

@KINGPIX:

Congrats for the 1.1 release! :celebration: I will backup my current Morrowind folder and try it out this evening...

I don't have a way to post screenshots at the moment but I want to report some sort of anomaly with my shaders. They look really good, especially the god rays! But for some reason, if I look at the sun and start moving, if some objects (tree branches for instance) blocks the sunlight the rays seems to display correctly, but as soon the sun is completely uncovered and very bright, any object in front shows very weird shadowing and you can see a very wide line around the object. For example, if it's a tree, then you can see the whole tree and branches silhouette, just the outline! Like it has no texture....I really don't know how to explain. Hopefully I can show you some screens later. Is not a game breaker but is kind of annoying.

I'm using AA and AF configured with MGE. I have my Catalyst set so any setting for AA or AF is governed by the application.

Cheers!

Congrats on the new patch finally getting released! One thing I've given up on is getting the exe optimizer to work properly. I wish someone would do an updated version of it that gets the kinds/bugs out of the program/ Aside from the constant *this program has stopped working, close program* errors - which doesn't close it and actually allows it to continue, I have a new problem with it. I want to use the latest beta for the Morrowind Code Patch. I deleted Morrowind.exe and restored the Morrowind.Original.Exe file, patch it and the patch worked but now when I try to run the exe optimizer it says that it can't access asmdriver.exe because it is being used, even a system restart won't fix this problem. I don't think there's anything that can really be done, its just a buggy piece of software...

What kind of comp would it take to run this? Those new lightning and water effects look pretty heavy.

Run it with the benchmarking turned off. You won't see those errors you mention first again. The latter I've never seen before.

Still having fps issues. Apparently not exactly related to this mod, vanilla morrowind with distant land gives me an average of only 30+fps.

normally you have to have run the game before running MGE. Is that true with this compilation as well, or have you handled that?

So, I can't get the MGE you supplied to work. I managed to get it working by installing a new version of MGE over it, and then I did the patch, and then MGE won't work again, so I install a new version over it again, which works... mostly. Says it can't see the resolution or windowed mode status. When I go through the steps, then, Morrowind says it needs MGE. I DID use MGE, as much as I could without the resolution being seen. Any ideas?

OOOOOK, just tried to run it without MGE, and my video driver died for a second. Um...
Impressive graphics?

O.o What version did you install?
Anyway it must work if you install all the required components and follow all the install steps.
