O.o What version did you install?
Anyway it must work if you install all the required components and follow all the install steps.

I'mma try once more. I did back everything up. I've messed up enough games enough times to finally learn to do that. :D

List of where THINGS went DIFFERENT from the INSTALL GUIDE, and OTHER POSSIBLE PROBLEMS
Oh, I'm using the main one you have. The main download one. I'm not sure where the version number went. I swear I saw it somewhere... Boy, do I feel incompetent!!

First of all, the TES3 BSA Registration Utility says all BSA's are fine. Um.... ok? Dunno what's with that, but oook!
At this point, I realize I forgot (THIS TIME, I remembered last time), to do the dates. I go back and fix that on both this and my back up copy.
Yah-de-yah, patch .exe optimizer thingy... 122 patches. Is that a lot?
Anyways... exe optimizer doesn't close automatically, so I close it, little red 'x'. Is it supposed to do that?
Again, for the options, I press "Apply", wait a while, assume it's done it's thing after a coupla minutes, and then press the big 'close' button.
mlox seems to work fine.
Let's try to see if MGE will work... Nope! It just says "MGE has stopped working... Windows is trying to find a solution". Any ideas?

Yes all is fine. Try to set a random resolution from the launcher (as described in the FAQs). Remember to run the launcher as admin.

What fps should I be getting with a hd 5870? I read your personalization guide and most of my settings are either what u suggested or lower. I have 2x AA 8x AF, min statics size 200 and draw distance 7, all else is what was suggested. You stated that it is recommended that shadows are to be turned off in the in-game options, does it help in performance? I'll try that but I don't get how my fps can go under 20 quite frequently.

5870 must have decent fps, and yes, disable shadows and decrease in game view distance. I have a 5970, that in morrowind is comparable to a 5870

No one answered my question a page back so I'll re ask it:
What type of rig do you have to have to run this mod? The water effects seem pretty nice, seems like it'd take a nice computer to run this.
I'm thinking of building a comp that can run Morrowind with the best of the best in terms of graphics (and oblivion I guess) and I want to run Morrowind with all of these great mods that make it look amazing, just wondering what kind of rig I need.

Hmm it's very adaptable for each pc.
Anyway a rig to run it like in the video is:

- Core i7/Core2Duo/Phenom/Athlon X2 around 3 GHz
- 2 GB RAM on 32 bit/4GB on 64
- Radeon 4870/5830/5850/5870 , GeForce 280/3**/4**/5**

Ah, that was the problem. I couldn't run the shortcut as admin, but if I go into the file, it allows me to run the launcher as admin, and now MGE is starting. Yayy!
I'm much more excited about this then I should be. :celebration:

Yeah, Game works now. I'm gonna install the patch now. Apparently you updated it, so I'mma redownload it too.

I didn't have that Animation mod checked in the first place. I guess that's a good thing, considering I was just about to UNcheck it?
Again, the options thing makes me nervous when there's nothing popping up to tell me it's done applying. But I suppose all is as it should be again. You may want to code in a pop-up window saying "Your settings have been applied" on that one, for nervous people like me who like to have everything validated.

On the other hand, running MGE is soooo easy now. I like this new REV version better than 3.8.0.

Ran it.
Verdict?
Beautiful. Bravo to all those modders, MGE, and you for putting it together. I need a better computer though I'm going to go and lower a bunch of those settings, my computer is running WAY to slow.

Yeah, I need a better computer. My processor is 5 years old, my graphics card is an nvidia GeForce 8500 GT.
Faaaiiiil. Gonna bug me dad until he basically buys a new computer. At least the monitor is nice... And the game makes wonderful stills. If only I could get it to do anything else.
Sadness.

Interested to know what will be included in the second pack! I have my own preferred gameplay/quest mods but I'm still interested. Can you give us some hints? :D

Terrific mod! Great to see this after so many years. Makes Morrowind so much nicer and helps us to streamline down the lots of very nice graphical enhancers so that I do not need to test them one by one. Can't wait for yourgameplay mod too.

That means you installed the Bloodmoon expansion before the Tribunal expansion, you're supposed to install Tribunal first.

Not necessarily. I got that error too even though I installed in the right order, tribunal before bloodmoon. Nevertheless, there's a solution in the morrowindoverhaul faqs.

I'm probably being an idiot - but I can't seem to find a download link anywhere - where is it on your website?

Cheers

Awesome work by the way

I have an 5870 too and I get better results. I use MGE XE (shadows everywhere :celebration: ) and 4x AA and 16x AF, 25 draw distance and min statics 150 (as recommended by MGE XE). Back when I used MGE provided in this pack, I had shadows in-game enabled but when I tried to use the shadows option from MGE, my FPS dropped below 10 sometimes...only when near an NPC or creature casting shadows. The only drawback from using MGE XE at this moment is really the lack of support/compatibility with HUD mods. The graphic ambiance gain is amazing.

I had the exact same issue too! However, now that I upgraded to 1.1 patch the problem is gone. I'm not really sure why or if it was really a problem related to version 1.0 but the problem is gone for sure.

How high are the water waves set in MGE? If they're too high, the water (which I assume is just below the floor) may clip with the surface.

What fps were you getting without the shadows option from MGE? I don't get how my fps is so low when all other games run at normal fps.
