KingPix and the Morrowind Overhaul Team are proud to present the first package of the project “Morrowind Overhaul”! It’s an Italian project started 2 years ago.

FIRST THINGS FIRST:
The mods included in this package were NOT created by KingPix. The credits list that you can find here includes every single modder who made this possible! I also want to thank the morrowind modding community for the huge work they did in those past 8 (almost 9!) years. I have personally contacted mod authors and received approval to use their mods in this package. I was unable to contact some mod authors, and have done my best to abide by their wishes as specified in their mod's readmes.

"Morrowind Sounds and Graphics Overhaul" is the first pack. It contains mods that will alter and enhance the visual graphics and the sounds of the game.

The aim of this project is to make more people around the world appreciate this huge game by giving them a simple installation file which includes everything they will need to play Morrowind with gorgeous graphics and sounds. I’ve tried to keep Morrowind’s “feeling”; therefore, the mods/meshes/textures I chose are the ones that I think are most faithful to the original colours and environment.

A benefit of this compilations is that players don’t need to go through the “download every single mod out there and try it” phase of customizing Morrowind. The pack is intended for people who would prefer not to hand-pick mods out of the thousands of mods available. Modding Morrowind can be overwhelming for some people, and they might want to start out with a compilation before they feel comfortable picking and choosing mods on their own.

UPDATES:
Please note that this pack will be often updated with new versions of the mod included, bugfixes, and so on. These updates will be available as patches. After 3 or 4 patches, I will create a new version of this compilation package. You can find all the current updates/patches http://morrowindoverhaul.net/blog/?page_id=9.

CONTACT:
Please leave feedback: I want to hear your comments, suggestions, advice, and criticism.
http://http://morrowindoverhaul.net/forum/index.php/topic,12.0.html
But you can also contact me...
By sending me an e-mail (dedicated e-mail adress): morrowindoverhaul@gmail.com

MUCH MORE IMPORTANTLY:
Please tell me as soon as possible if there are issues like “oh no, you didn’t credited [modder_name’s_here]!” or “no, you can’t include my mod in this package.” If you do not want your content in this package, let me know, and I will remove it right away.

Oh, and just to be correct, here's the Morrowind Overhaul Team behind this project:

Hi there. Just downloaded the mod and installed it correctly - it starts up just fine. I'm playing on a machine with a low-end graphics card, so I checked all the 'lite' options and didn't use the Graphics Extender (checked the box that disables it during the installation). Despite this, the game plays with extremely heavy lag in certain areas. It seems that whenever I look at an NPC the game slows to a snail's pace. Is this just because something has tipped the bad graphics card over the edge, or something else bundled with the mod?

Oh, I was using Better Bodies and Clothes already before I enabled this mod, so it isn't (or at least shouldn't) be that causing the problem. I'm not sure what else it is that could be causing the trouble. I was just testing things in the prologue, and when facing Jiub, the game is choppy and unplayable. Turn around to face the clutter away from Jiub and the game speeds up to regular levels. Was there anything that would've vastly increased performance demands on NPCs to that extent that I could disable?

So "disable MGE", does it mean that you entirely deleted MGE from the Morrowind folder or just disabled the Distant Lands?

No, I just opened the program then checked the "Disable MGE ingame" box on the bottom left. Considering in the test I did I didn't even leave an interior cell, I'm not sure MGE has anything to do with it though.

Download http://sourceforge.net/projects/morrgraphext/files/Beta%20Releases/MGE%203.8%2B%20SVN%20builds/mge3.8.2-rev.0178.7z/download of MGE and and copy the d3d8.dll file ONLY, to replace the older one, I had the same problem with a low-end test machine. Maybe this helps now too.

Kingpix, do you realize that on your google page instructions step 17 is incomplete? It says nothing about using TESTOOL.

Okay, that's much, much better now. There is still a significant dip in FPS when I look at NPCs though. Anything else that can be done to alleviate that? If not I'll just grin and bear it. :)

EDIT: Just ran around a little more, and outside the starting scene with Jiub, the speed is only a tiny bit faster than before. :/

Sure, I removed it because it's really unnecessary in this pack.

I too have some problems with fps. I do believe my setup (i7 2600 and hd 5870) should be able to handle a little higher settings, but even when disabling distand land, my fps is only around the 30s. Enabling distant land.... it can drop down to 10 fps. Is there something that I could do to improve the performance?

I just want to thank you Kingpix. I recently bought Morrowind and after playing the game a bit I decided to get some mods. The only thing is there is so many. I was going to download Better Bodies and Tamriel Rebuilt but then I found this. It made it so much simpler. I've downloaded 1.0 yesterday so I was wondering whether 1.1 is necessary?

Awesome Effort

Great news, thanks, KINGPIX! Just awesome, very interesting content!
BTW, couldn't you just check the 4shared download? Some troubles with it, I believe. I couldn't resume it before, and today just can't start.

KINGPIX
I have to warn you about something I've discovered a few days ago..
Due to missing subrecords in corresponding ARMO records 'Alaisiagae's Left Gloves Addon' cancels all the corrections made by MPP1.6.5 (or Clean_Templar_Pauldron_Fix_v1.1.esp if you have it earlier in load order) to imperial Templar Pauldrons and make em look ugly again.

OH, didn't know it, thanks for the warning, that will be corrected in the 1.2 patch.

EDIT: Alright, fixed and ready to be updated with the 1.2 patch. :)
