[RELz] Morrowind Overhaul - Sounds & Graphics

Post » Sun Oct 03, 2010 10:37 am

Hi! Starting of by saying how much I love this modpack! For years I've been trying to customize Morrowind myself to achieve similar results, but I kept failing. With the help of this pack I can finally get the game I've dreamt about!

But I'm having a minor problem with ambient sounds...

When I'm walking around the Ascadian Isles I keep hearing the sounds you hear inside tombs, ruins and such (have identified "cave_wind" and "chant" from listening to the files in sounds/fx/envrn). Quite annoying.

Could this be a bug related to any of the Sound mods added (like Expanded Sounds), and how can it be fixed?

I got rid of Expanded Sounds and installed ASE, as I prefer Duncan's exterior sound selections and what he did for the taverns,

Hey guys!

I recently got the "Hey I wanna play Morrowind again"-itch. And I found this project which seemed very promising.

Been following the install notes to the letter ( https://docs.google.com/document/d/1KNeumt2JoLog4S1cUYcVu2d8RHLUIhBf1sxIUhr2VEU/edit?hl=en&authkey=CI3A54gF&pli=1#heading=h.tbuwgvcvqc5z ).

However, I've come to the part where you are supposed to run MGEgui.exe however it just says "MGEgui.exe has stopped working".

And I have tried google to no avail and yes I run it as administrator.

Any ideas?

Am I right in thinking that in order to do that I should download both sound mods, have a look at all the expanded sound files and take them out individually and then install ASE?

Ullis: I am having the same problems but am trying to figure it out. I know that the rev 176 works but the 186 is not working yet.

I actually just got it to work.. I rebooted my PC and did the exact same thing again.... and it worked :P

Now I got another issue tho, it says Failed to load snowflake: Meshes\BM_Snow_01.nif

So gonna look into that one now..

EDIT: Looks like I'm going to have to do it all over.. :(

Hurm, won't let me edit post...

Anyway, just wanted to add some positivity after ma last few posts. It works amazing now! It looks like the Morrowind I remember (because I played Morrowind *NINE* years ago) which means the creators of these mods have done insanely good jobs and thanks for putting it all together kingpinx. Real appreciated :)

I installed ASE too (because Expanded Sounds had some annoying issues for me...) and I didn't delete the Expanded Sounds files, I only installed ASE additionally and disabled the *.esp's related to Expanded Sounds (Expanded Sounds.esp, GH_ES1.3.esp, GH_Extra_ES1.3.esp).

Yup. That's what I did.

I added Wilderness sounds found here: http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=mods.detail&id=913

Works well with ASE.

Here => http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1164830-betarelz-dongles-waterpack-plus/page__p__17127554#entry17127554
There is a solution in it for you missing file (read his readme ^^).

I am confused. It multiple missing textures, not a mesh that I am missing(I think). I have the mesh in my data folder already.

Thank you thank you! This is amazing!

I played Morrowind back in '04, but never knew about modding. After playing Oblivion for a bit I found out about the modding (and seriously spent a few months practically just modding Oblivion!)
But I never thought about returning to Morrowind, until i saw a video of this project. My jaw dropped when I saw what the modding community could do with this old 2002 game! Now Im going crazy modding Morrowing, using MGSO as the foundation.

One question though...the latest update says to uncheck Dirnaes animation mods in the animkit. Why cant we use it anymore? What would happen if i recheck it?

Thanks Tywele, I have done that now :)

The only issue I have now is the many missing files from "Morrowind comes alive", I get about 20 "can't find this" type messages on data load up. I also have around 10fps when I come out of the boat at Seyda Neen so I need to do something to get that down.

Edit: My game is crashing when the silt rider tries to get off at Balmora and it even crashed when I was woken up for a fight at night time after about 30 seconds of the fight.

There's already a texture replacer for the clockwork city in the pack http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=327560&id=6829. Personally I'd rather the one we have already.

What problems are you experiencing exactly?
I'm just trying to figure out wether I should use Expanded Sounds, or ASE, but I don't have the time to test them both out.

Hi folks!

Im using the Better Bodies mature version in MOSG. BUT...the male models are lacking...ummm, well...the male parts. Is there anything that can be causing the men of Morrowind to all be castrated?

Maybe there could be an option to choose between the two clockwork city mods, they both look good, I just happen to prefer the one I recommended because it adds new flavor and architecture to the place that fits well.

I guess that's possible and I certainly wouldn't be against it. Otoh you could just download it and install over the one in the pack

I've been following this list (included in the download) for constructing my own by hand install.

I notice that this installs both Windows Glow and Illuminated Windows.

Do these conflict? mlox says nothing - are they complimentary?

I read that IW can conflict with city mods that change building positions and and such (bummer) ... is this also true of Windows Glow?

thanks
