[RELz] Morrowind Overhaul - Sounds & Graphics

Post » Sun Oct 03, 2010 4:51 pm

Use the TR patch http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=7762 Mr Smit. Make sure you remember to recreate your distant land too and to not enable the esp.

edit: I tried it myself (you reminded me that I hadn't looked for a TR grass patch myself lol) but it keeps giving an out of memory error when the esp is in my data folder when I recreate my distant land. After checking the modlist again I noticed it also lists vurts groundcover which that patch is not for (obviously) so that is probably the cause of the error...but the list also says vality's grass which is what I noticed and clicked on at first to see if there was a TR patch. I guess it uses vurts though since it doesn't work, that would also mean no grass patch for TR :sadvaultboy:

edit2: Happened to go into TR territory and despite MGE throwing errors at me when creating distant land it does work after all because I have grass there :celebration: so I guess you can use the TR patch I linked to at first. Just remember to recreate distant land and to not enable the esp and you're good to go.

im getting a lot of those d*mn yellow boxes (cant remember if theyre textures or meshes)...all of the darkbrotherhood armour is broken and so are alot of the female clothing and armours...any ideas how to fix it? ive clean installed twice and had the same problem and short of looking for other overhauls for the broken items im out of ideas...

EDIT: Tried the UFR fix that has been suggested for issues like this previously but it hasnt helped...also i am aware that this issue is usually caused by installing the expansions in the wrong order but i installed tribunal then bloodmoon and vanilla-wise it ran fine with no issues what so ever...

Found a new mod that you might want to include: http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1192285-relzbetter-picksnprobes/. It includes texture variations so if you include it you might want to update the MGSO options chooser to include the different textures.

I'm still enjoying this mod a lot, had a few glitches with the snowstorms in Skyrim but that I got fixed. I'm playing as a vampire right now and I'm having a great time.

But I installed Suran Archery Shop recently and everytime I get into Suran the game shuts down and this comes up:

"Model load error: Meshes/a/archer_hood_brown.nif cannot load file in Meshes/a/archer hood_brown.nif. Will use default object Marker_Error.nif"

Well I thought I had misplaced the Meshes folder, so I tried to copy it into the Meshes folder again correctly. You see it had for some reason just landed into the Data files/Meshes folder as simply Meshes.
And then I get that error message and: "tx_a_archer_hood_brown-dds!"

I think the problem might be that the archery shop mod has a few folders in it's mesh folder that has like a folder called: a and I think there was another letter too. This might be a stupid question and assumption but I wonder if it becomes a problem because there is already a folder in Morrowind/Data files/Meshes called: A. So I can't seem to add the archery mods folders into it like they should.

Uh, I hope someone understand what I meant.

I should mention that I haven't had any problems with this particular mod in the past until I started using Morrowind Overhaul.

Did you happen to get any errors when you tried? like out of memory errors? Just wondering if that was just me.

Yes, when I tried recreating distant land with the default settings (creating everything in one step), it gave an out of memory error. So I redid the whole thing in parts such as when you first run distant land file creation. It then worked out well.

How do I install Morrowind in another directory?
It says it might have problems if you install Morrowind in the program files if using vista/7
I use windows 7 64 bit..

The setup asks you that during your first install. However even if you unistall Morrowind then, a re-installation does not prompt you with the "choose folder" window.
Do this:
- Unistall Morrowind completely
- Use regedit and delete all Morrowind info from windows registry
- Re-install Morrowind in the folder you like (it is best if no videogame is installed in Program Files or Program Files (x86))
- If step 3 does not prompt you the "choose folder" window, repeat step 2, as you done it wrong.

Hope it works, it did for me! :)

Well I removed the archery shop mod. It's a shame 'cause it's a fantastic mod. But I think I will have to do without it.

Is it very common that a mismatch of other mods afterwards happens after having installed MOSG?

I've been playing with this amazing modcompilation for a couple of weeks now, and no problems. Havn't installed anything else.
But a couple of days ago my character lost it's head. Hair is still there - but no head.
And the game tells me that the skytexture for the blizzard is missing to. Any advice? I would rather not reinstall the whole thing.

Edit: Another problem is a lack of .esp for the solstheim trees, which means no distant land. Distant land would be nice :)

I have a question. Does this overhaul include the beautiful mushroom/parasol trees by Vurt?

I just finished installing the Overhaul and my reaction was WOW. It looks amazing! Thank you for making this install, it is awesome, and my attempt of an install in the past doesn't even compare to what you and your team have done. Thank you for making it! :foodndrink: Now all I have to do is wait for the Game Experience part of the overhaul to be released and I can start playing :P .

If you haven't gotten it working yet all you have to do is go to the macro settings in MGE.gui and choose a key and set it to screenshot.

Only one thing remains unclear in my current install. I see that mlox gives this warning:

[REQUIRES]
!!!'Better Clothes_v1.1.esp' Requires:
> 'MISSING(Better Bodies.esp)'
| "Better Clothes" requires version 2.1 or 2.2 of Psychodog Studios' "Better Bodies"

Is this to be expected or something went wrong in my install?

It's a harmless error because in MGSO it's the esp-less version of Better Bodies that is include.

Me too, thanks for the clarification. Has anybody answer my question about whether if the mushroom/parasol trees by Vurt included in this compilation? Because everything is ok so far but I don't see Vurt's unique mushroom/parasol trees.

I did. It says that it contains all Vurt's Ascadian Isles trees. Will that mean the mushroom trees too? I can see all of Vurt's trees in the game except what I've mentioned.

If you selected vurt's ascadian isles during the install they should all be there.

Strange, I did check Vurt's Ascadian Isles check box but still i don't get his mushroom trees. If everybody are getting Vurt's mushroom trees then I'm doing something wrong.
