KingPix and the Morrowind Overhaul Team are proud to present the first package of the project “Morrowind Overhaul”! It’s an Italian project started 2 years ago.

FIRST THINGS FIRST:
The mods included in this package were NOT created by KingPix. The credits list that you can find here includes every single modder who made this possible! I also want to thank the morrowind modding community for the huge work they did in those past 8 (almost 9!) years. I have personally contacted mod authors and received approval to use their mods in this package. I was unable to contact some mod authors, and have done my best to abide by their wishes as specified in their mod's readmes.

"Morrowind Sounds and Graphics Overhaul" is the first pack. It contains mods that will alter and enhance the visual graphics and the sounds of the game.

The aim of this project is to make more people around the world appreciate this huge game by giving them a simple installation file which includes everything they will need to play Morrowind with gorgeous graphics and sounds. I’ve tried to keep Morrowind’s “feeling”; therefore, the mods/meshes/textures I chose are the ones that I think are most faithful to the original colours and environment.

A benefit of this compilations is that players don’t need to go through the “download every single mod out there and try it” phase of customizing Morrowind. The pack is intended for people who would prefer not to hand-pick mods out of the thousands of mods available. Modding Morrowind can be overwhelming for some people, and they might want to start out with a compilation before they feel comfortable picking and choosing mods on their own.

UPDATES:
Please note that this pack will be often updated with new versions of the mod included, bugfixes, and so on. These updates will be available as patches. After 3 or 4 patches, I will create a new version of this compilation package. You can find all the current updates/patches http://morrowindoverhaul.net/blog/?page_id=9.

CONTACT:
Please leave feedback: I want to hear your comments, suggestions, advice, and criticism.
http://http://morrowindoverhaul.net/forum/index.php/topic,12.0.html
But you can also contact me...
By sending me an e-mail (dedicated e-mail adress): morrowindoverhaul@gmail.com

MUCH MORE IMPORTANTLY:
Please tell me as soon as possible if there are issues like “oh no, you didn’t credited [modder_name’s_here]!” or “no, you can’t include my mod in this package.” If you do not want your content in this package, let me know, and I will remove it right away.

Oh, and just to be correct, here's the Morrowind Overhaul Team behind this project:

Kingpix - Project Leader and pack building/ tweaking
Fafolo - Italian Install Guide (wonderful)
Yoae (and his girlfrend XD) & Darkvalca - Guide translation + MGSO Options Program
Nick93 - Screens & videos
Tumore (cancrena here) - Betatesting
no1 - Morrowind Overhaul Mascotte
Julianross - So much help with mods and modlist

The link to the modlist in this thread still refers to the old modlist of version 1.1 :unsure2:

Thanks for this amazing compilation Pix, you succeeded where most others have failed!

Now, I know there's a Gameplay compilation in development, I have no idea what it will contain, but is it worth hoping for a compatible version of NoM with the grass? NoM alters some of the landscape and floating grass is kinda freaky.

In the NoM package you can find the esps that make Vurt's grass mod compatible with NoM changes to the landscape. Instructions on how to use them are in the readme, but if you need help feel free to post in the NoM thread. :)

Nope I won't. I have the permissions but I won't.
As Cyrano and all the crew says it's constantly updated and it could conflict with almost 60% of the mods out there.
So I think it's better leave it off.

I think Balmora UnMod should be made optional. I have a middle of the road rig (ATI 5770, AMD Athlon 6400+ (dual core), 4 gig ram) and it provides no fps gain for me at the expense of losing some eye candy. But a must have for low end rigs, for sure.

Hmm ok I'll see what I can do for the next patch :)

The Display Driver error I was getting apparently was quite a big deal when Vista first launched and many people were getting it(first time I can recall playing a game and gettting though, perhaps because of MW's age) there are many fixes for this problem none of them 100%, but for me turning off AA stopped the crashing.

Your work is awesome. Now that I can play the game with out crashes every 5-10 min I started a new game(first MW game in 5 years or so) and I must say you did a great job, everything blends well together. It does not feel like some random tex mods thrown together.
(note:I am using Connary textures also).

One suggestion I think you should consider, an option for darker nights, darker night mods have been popular for Beths other games, I think a lot of people would like to have this option. You could make 2 options, darker nights for those like me that just want things a little more realistic(like 50% darker) and Very dark nights for those that want to have to use torches, lanterns, etc at night.

Yep I was thinking about that for the next patch. I think I'll do that :)

Thanks again for the kind words and the suggestion.

Kingpix: A week or so back i installed your overhaul with all the patches, i loved how colorful and clear the lighting was in the daytime, light was reflecting perfectly off trees and objects, i then switched to the new lighting settings you provided (and which you say you will patch to) and i have to say that the lighting is not an upgrade in all areas. Might be something you want to check out before patching it up.

If you feel up to it, you can change the lighting settings yourself in the Morrowind.ini file. I personally use http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1177995-who-wants-to-test-some-light-settings/page__view__findpost__p__17436946 settings, and they look great.
