Morrowind Overhaul

Post » Sun Jul 08, 2012 2:16 pm

If we use Morrowind Overhaul do we need to add any other graphic upgrade mods as we used too, or is MO all we need for the most part? For example do we need to use Vurts 10 or so different mods/esps or are those textures/meshes already covered by MO. It's just Vurts alone adds almost 10 esps, so if they aren't really necessary then would rather have less esps or other type of mods, giving more stablity or diversity.

Tried to find this info but haven't been able too.

Thanks for any tips.

I don't know if it covers this specific mod you mentioned, but I suggest you read the Credits where it is written which mods does MO cover. I think you can download it on MO main page. I know that MO has already included a lot of fixes like Morrowind code patch and some others which make the game more stable and also repair major bugs like unarmored not increasing and so on...

MO is great, it really improves the game for those that are not used to play Morrowind with vanilla graphics.

Vurt and several other tree options come with the overhaul - you'll see the choices in the installer. They also have a complete list of the mods that are included in the overhaul. Beyond that, you can wait for the second part of the overhaul to come out (game experience) or just start adding whatever mods you want that aren;t included.

Vurt's trees are part of the package - no, you don't need to download those in addition to the overhaul.

You only need additional mods if you don't like the look of the ones that are included or if you find something you like better. I would install MGSO and check it out. If you find things you don't like, look for other replacers that are designed for that item (like landscape, furniture, etc.) and install them over the overhaul. You don't need to uninstall anything, just overwrite. Note that if you reinstall Morrowind, you'll need to repeat the install process.

Thanks for the replies Lopov87, Dana Nova Darko and Jac.

Since it was my first time I used the automated install, so I probably missed all the choices. I will focus on gameplay changes, since I was considering starting a new game soon and not sure when to expect the Game Experience Overhaul.

Thanks

Edit: Oh I see Game Experience is out as a Wipz, will check it out, thanks.

Son of Edit: Doh, I really have clicked on almost every link, can't find any list of mods contained. Does anyone know if Animations were fixed in the MO Graphic and Sound package? Thanks.

Depends entirely on what kind of tone or style you want.

Take some time, have a look at the different texture packs that have been made over the years since Morrowind's release. You never know when a certain style will get your attention. MGSO can act as a basis much the same way that the Mixed Texture Pack did previously. There's a pretty substantial difference in the releases Vurt's made. You might even want to chop and change swapping some from one and the rest from another.

A homogenised Morrowind can be achingly dull.
