Morrowind Patch Project bug report thread

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 2:49 pm

During the "Mehra Milo and the Lost Prophecies" quest in the Ministry of Truth if you are not a Temple member and have an Indoril helmet, cuirass, and pauldrons, and your disposition with the Grand Inquisitor is at least 70, and you are not of a beast race, you can tell him you have "proper authorization" and he will give you his key.

Bug: You can mention this topic infinitely, each time recieving a new key.

edit: Also if you speak with him again he will greet you with:
"Someone is going to going to regret this mistake. Dearly."

The morrowind wiki page states that if you choose the "proper authorization" route - the guards will refuse to attack you.
This is false, the guards still attack you.

Thanks for the reports! Actually I'm going just correct some of the issues in the last release, and add the new reports, and have the 1.6.5 patch hosted at PES fairly soon.

I'll work more on the dialogue filtering, it's definately been one of the bigger facets to tackle on this project.

I must ask you when can we expect the mpp 1.6.5. available on PES?
The reason I ask you is quite simple. Since ElricM is down atm we can't get mpp 1.6.4 any more and I think the mpp 1.6.3b is probably lost too not sure though, but the only version there is available is from BTB's site (mpp 1.6.5. and mpp 1.6.5 - BTB Edit) in the same archive?

I've all of them. Should I upload them to http://www.fliggerty.com/phpBB3/index.php, but I won't do it unless you say otherwise. :)

What about the morrowind wiki site? 1.6.5b & 1.6.3b are available there.

@quorn: Are you going to merge my ESPs into your patch, or should I list the changes with the item IDs (mostly floating rocks)?

Also, here are two more. I may fix them into my ESPs someday, but unless I know that you are using these, this would be useless.

Morrowind.esm 7/17/2002 (15:59) *** terrain_rock_bc_18 Bitter Coast Region (-4,-10) -27713 -78340 -146 "floater of epic proportions"
Morrowind.esm 7/17/2002 (15:59) *** terrain_rock_ai_09 Ascadian Isles Region (1,-12) 9747 -95139 -381 "floater"

I would like to report an inconsistency that could be fixed in the upcoming patch. Many of the silver weapons (or weapons that use the silver model as a base) are not set to "Silver Weapon." That includes the nordic silver weapons that come with Bloodmoon.

@popmaster: Oops  I forgot those links and thanks for the info. But the question is what sites are these patches available than those on the wiki page?
I don't know if they were archived in http://modhistory.fliggerty.com/ or not.

Not to mention the Dome building of http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Hlormaren stronghold (vanilla=is floating in the air) and when you enter the Dome http://img213.imageshack.us/img213/5743/mgescreenshot9.jpg, but soon you walk a little you fall down a little so that needs to be corrected. :)

I think that the Texture Fix mod should be merged into this along with Correct UV Rocks and Correct UV Trees, these last two are only meshes, but the first one it must be hard work, it's only a sugestion.

How about including this bug fix here?
JMS-shishi_door_fix-0.3.7z

Looks like a obvious vanilla bug.

I just discovered an error not yet fixed in version 1.64 (the most current version of the patch that I have).

Topic: travel together

Info ID #1246856681164115499
Filter [ID: hides_his_foot]: "Shall I follow you now?"

This is available as soon as the player learns the topic 'travel together'. This entry has the potential of jumpstarting the second official Twin Lamps quest before it has been offered. The entries filtered for Hides His Foot under the topic 'go free' suggest this was not Bethesda's intention. I recommend adding the additional filter Journal: HH_TwinLamps3 >= 10.

Another (less likely encountered error) I discovered some weeks ago under Service Refusal:

Info ID #786912151253629496
Filter [Race: Bosmer; Faction: Morag Tong; Rank: Brother; Function: Same Faction = 0; Function: Faction Rank Difference < -3]: "No, I'm afraid not, %PCName. My premium services are one of the sweet privileges of rank for the %Faction members."

This should be filtered for Function: Same Faction = 1. This is clear from the other entries in this block and the developers' notes in dialog results.

Based on that, there's also an error with this Service Refusal:
Filter [Race: Wood Elf; Faction: Hlaalu; Rank: House Cousin; Function: Same Faction = 0; Function: Faction Rank Difference < -3]: "No, I'm afraid not, %PCName. My premium services are one of the sweet privileges of rank for the %Faction members."

Should also be filtered for Function: Same Faction = 1.

I double checked against MPP v1.65 beta and the errors you mention have not been addressed by that version either.

You are right - I had forgotten about the second instance. I had been working on a faction services mod (a little less restrictive than Wakim's) when I discovered the errors. However that was back when the future of the patch project was in doubt, and I did not report it at the time. I posted today to report a problem discovered while testing an update of Slave Escort and remembered (in part) the earlier filtering mistake. Thank you for confirming the errors had not been corrected yet.

Looks like there are some rogue floaters around Ebonheart: http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=8904

quorn, how are things going?

Here is my usual bugs update:

Morrowind.esm 7/17/2002 (15:59) *** terrain_rock_bc_18 Bitter Coast Region (-4,-10) -27713 -78340 -146 "floater of epic proportions"
Morrowind.esm 7/17/2002 (15:59) *** terrain_rock_ai_09 Ascadian Isles Region (1,-12) 9747 -95139 -381 "floater"
Morrowind.esm 7/17/2002 (15:59) *** terrain_rock_wg_01 Ald Velothi (-11,15) -85358 126623 806 "floater (look from east)"
Morrowind.esm 7/17/2002 (15:59) *** terrain_rock_wg_09 West Gash Region (-11,14) -87097 116074 514 "extreme floater (when seen from the river)"
Morrowind.esm 7/17/2002 (15:59) *** terrain_rock_bc_15 Bitter Coast Region (-11,5) -84332 45131 -784 "slight floater (look from SE)"

Please tell me whether I should fix them in my patch, or you have already merged it into yours.

Also, if you kill Arven Nalyn in cell "Vivec, Hlaalu Ancestral Vaults" and dispose of his corpse before killing the other 3 outlaws in that cell, the game crashes to desktop (this is not a matter of mods, but a vanilla bug). I don't understand why. I also don't understand why, when I get attacked by Arven, the other 3 baddies immediately attack me, though they were initially friendly and are too far away to see me. This is NOT scripted. I wouldn't even be surprised if this is hardcoded somewhere in Morrowind.exe (Hrnchamd?). Anyway, would this be solved by making Arven corpses-persist?
