Morrowind PNP

Post » Sun Dec 27, 2009 8:02 pm

Hi folks. I'm Duke and I loved playing Morrowind and Oblivion.

Anyways, my brother and I both completed the games. We're also complete RPG nerds, and decided one day that a Morrowind Pen and Paper RPG would be incredibly awesome. Having free time on our hands, writing and production started. No profit or gain was intended, other then us and others having some fun.

Few months back I found the project and again started working on it. Currently, the PNP is nearing completion, and me and some buddies are doing some IRC gaming to test it out. We could use one or two more players, and I was advised to come try the official forums.

So, anyone here interested in playing the game? If so, I can email the rulebook and IRC information around.

I'd be interested. Send me the rulebook and i'll look it over. As a note though, I'm not a very experienced GM.

I'd recommend incorporating Herosystem; not to replace the game mechanics, but you can use it for balancing magical abilities/effects, determining the strength of weapon/armor effects, ect. Converting systems when your done is generally very easy.

Hey. Replies.

Good to see that some people are interested. I've been putting up ads in a number of locations, and a few hours back I ended up filling the first group. That's not to say I won't be looking for more people in the future, or that you shouldn't be interested in doing some testing of your own. I won't however be accepting any more play-testers for a bit. Sorry people.

PMing around my email and the rulebook.

There's definitely enough interest it seems. I've read through the majority of the rulebook (and some things i need to re-read to understand); It looks promising. What it needs at some point is a spreadsheet (or two) to go with the handbook for building spells, calculating costs, ect. I may end up making those another time.

Interesting. Just to add a little something... I have a veeery vague memory that the under lying game mechanics system for TES was originally based on Role Master. Anyone know if that's true?

Whoa, I check back and four more people are interested. I'll PM you all the rulebook. Also. We could still use another tester, should someone want to give it a try. The other gentleman I grabbed ended up having computer issues, and was unable to game with us. So.

Not familiar with Role Master. I'll have to look it up.

So far we have decided upon using IRC. If we need a more visual system I can always grab a virtual tabletop tool, but so far we've managed.

Woo, possible playtester. Send me an email and I can provide the server/channel info, so that we may discuss details further. A few other testers and I are also on right now that you can talk with.

I'd definitely be up for giving it a go, but I'd need someone very patient and willing to share their knowledge as I've never pen&paper RPG'd before in my life (despite trying to find people in my area who would give it a go with me).

That said, a total noob probably isn't the best when you're testing something. In any case, if you're really desperate at some point, drop me a PM.

Ps: A copy of the rulebook wouldn't be too bad, I'll happily give it a thorough read.

Hey people. Currently my play-testing group is full, but there's the possibility of getting a 2nd one going. (Provided that I find another GM willing to do it.) PMing the rulebook to those asking for it.

Ello again,

It always makes me happy when I go and check this thread and see that people are interested. Anyways, play-testing with the PNP has been going on since about December and it's been a blast. One of my long-timers isn't able to keep playing, however, so I thought I'd check here to see if anyone would like to join in. PC position to be replaced, shoes to fill, etc. Reception here seemed pretty positive, also.

Send me a PM if you'd like to give it a shot, want to see the newer version of the rulebook, or maybe want some explanations or stories of how the system has been used so far.

Also, I may have missed sending the rules to some folks that asked for it and if so apologize. PM's were kind of hectic for a bit, back when this thread was first made.
