Morrowind on PS3?

Post » Sun Jun 17, 2012 2:01 pm

I just want to know if we will ever get to see Morrowind on PS3, it doesn't even have to be remaster or in HD or anything like that. I don't really feel comfortable sitting down and using my keyboard to do anything, my hands get sore easily and I prefer a controller. This game should definitely come out for PS. If you agree, let me know.

It will never come out for Playstation, sorry.

It might be possible for you to use a controller with your PC to play Morrowind on your computer - it's a great experience.

Wont happen....for the simple reason that the PS3 isn't even from the same generation, Morrowind was made for the original Xbox.

Not to mention Morrowind's UI and controls were really built for a keyboard and mouse, I've tried using a controller with it and it just doesnt work....there are too many buttons.

That's a shame.

If it ever did come out on PS3 it would be awesome.

Something I always wondered, why did Morrowind only come out on XBOX, and not PS2 as well?

I've heard it said that PS2 was just not powerful enough. I don't know if that's true.

That's possible. I've had both a PS2 and an Xbox and I noticed that the Xbox versions of games sometimes had better performance or could handle more characters. 007 Nightfire, for instance, could support four multiplayer bots on PS2 and six on Xbox.

Ahh, ok.

Even if it had, I think I would have stuck with PC, I just have a preferance over computers than consoles. More to do and change I guess.

Well yeah. Duh. Just look at the hardware. The Xbox version ran on shaders for the water and some other effects, but still i think the PS2 was capable of running it. You had other games almost identical to Morrowind. Games like Grand Theft Auto's, FF, other JRPG's that had massive worlds with much more content and .. better graphics, and almost all games played better on it. No Loading Screens, yet Morrowind was not release for the PS2? I think it wasen't how powerful the system was, but bethesda didn't have that much experience working with the PS2 *actually nothing*. That's why.

They were going to make a Redguard port for the PS2. Never happened, sadly. Rogue Galaxy is an example of an RPG for the PS2 that had few loading screens, but it was made fairly late into the system's lifespan.

Tell you what. I am so confident that Bethesda WILL NOT decide to re-release Morrowind for PS3 or PS2 I'd be willing to bet $10,000. Put it that way.

bethesda may take you on with posts like that lol :)
though morrowind can run just fine with a playstation style controller on pc ive done it with a logitec dual action , only quirk is that the mouse is controlled by the control stick, which svcks. if you found someway to emulate an xbox on the ps2 or 3 then it could be do able but the legal implications are a bit crazy there.

Make my day, Bethesda.

At least then we can say they've at last released a game that's a spiritual successor to Morrowind...even if it's just Morrowind again.

HEY! Dpn't say that! You'll jinx up T. Howard's mind and there won't ever be another Elder Scrolls game. Ever! A five game series is good, but can you imagine an ES series as long has FF? THE SERIES MUST CONTINUE, for all of Tamriel's sake.

I would agree.

I'd kill for a remake.

It would be a huge financial loss if they attempted to do this. It's not really in Bethesda's best interest.
