[RELz] Morrowind Rebirth

Post » Thu Feb 06, 2014 12:34 am

The only problem I'm having atm is the incompatibility with other mods. I could make patches to alleviate that but MR's .esp file changes its name every time there's a new version. And it would be hard to keep track

Yepp, know issue. I'll upload the missing files for you guys later today or tomorrow. These will also be included in 2.6, which will be released soon

I know, it's mainly because the files get uploaded by others on other sites, it would be hard to keep track of every version without changing the name of the esp, sorry :P

I think I can do a workaround. I could remove the dependency with Wrye Mash afterwards, maybe.

I always put the version number in the actual description of my mods, plus the other sites usually just copy and paste all my descriptions so the version number is obvious.

Also, it's difficult to tell which MR esp file is which when loading them in the CS. There's no description or author name.

You can add both author and version number for your esp in CS and doing that in CS also makes it easier to update, instead of having an esp with .esp e.g Morrowind Rebirth x.x.esp.

I suppose it wouldn't be to long before MWRB 2.6 is released or should I stick to MWRB 2.5 for the time being.

Congrats mate you have deserve such appreciation. :trophy:

Thanks everyone! But it wouldn't be possible without everyone in this great community! I have had a lot of help, mainly by fulgore, who's made a ton of stuff. But also from past and present modders that have created such a huge amount of fantastic resources :)

Leo: 2.6 will be ready this weekend, so stay tuned!

That's great news and keep up the hard work.

Perhaps it's time to update both your sig and avatar.

I believe you have an unread PM in your inbox.

Sorry to say it won't be in this version, it was meant to be in 2.6, but some other things were more important (like weapon balance for instance). There will be a lot of other good stuff however, so I don't think you'll be too disappointed! :P

2.7 will be the Bitter Coast overhaul and nothing else! (bugfixes excluded).

I hope you don't mind this post. I've just finish my mod installation and MWRB was one of those mods I wanted to play, because I haven't play it for so long and now I thought why not.

So install it and sort my loadorder with mlox upon I notice this mlox reminder of possible conflicts/problems in my game.

I want to know why is there missing esp's in MWRB 2.5. Is all these esp required meaning I need to install those mods too before MWRB 2.5 has completed the installation?

It's a list of mods that are already included in Rebirth (no idea why it list them as missing though). I also notice that this list is actually pretty outdated, as some mods have been deleted,

I see. That explains it why I got these 'missing esp' errors in mlox. Well it's time to update mlox masterlist too I guess. Thanks mate.

I almost forgot to ask you about the Golden Saint Armor mod. Do I need it at all or doesn't it matter if I still have it activated?

Golden Saint Armor is already included in Rebirth :)

Envy: I have no idea. I'll have to talk to Fulgore about what we're going to do!

Um. "Missing" means you don't have that mod installed.

Please post any amendments you'd like to make in the mlox thread. Using actual plugin names would be wonderful. I'll get round to it at some point. It's unlikely I'll download this ~300MB mod myself.
 That's why you got the mlox message. The one plugin on the list which you did have installed was "Golden Saint Armor.esp", and as the mlox message says: "Trancemaster_1988's "Morrowind Rebirth" already includes these mods."

Of course I know that, but it's kind of odd when Trancemaster told me that those mods is already included in Morrowind Rebirth then why are they detected as missing in mlox.

But that was ages ago in Morrowind Rebirth 1.5 I think.

Uh. I'm sorry but I don't understand. You don't have the mods installed (apart from Golden Saint Armour) and that's what the Missing means in mlox.

My hope with that rule was to prevent people from loading mods which were already included in Rebirth.

But, like I say, if you've any suggestions for updating the rules for Morrowind Rebirth in mlox then please let me know over in the mlox thread.

[Edit: typo]

Okay perhaps I weren't clear before.

Morrowind Rebirth already has these mods included then why is mlox reporting these mods as missing in my loadorder and not reporting them for not having them installed due to the fact the actual mod is already included in Morrowind Rebirth.

Oh, this is because Mlox works as a list, it searches your load list to see if the mod is there. Morrowind Rebirth includes it so that mod is not in the list. The fix to this is that the mlox maintainer update the definitions. Mlox cannot tell what resources are in a mod or anything like that it only checks basic information the esp name and version.

That's exactly my point and it also explains it why the Golden Saint Armor mod didn't have any remarks as a 'missing' mod.
