Morrowind re release with Skyrim Graphics and Gameplay

Post » Tue Jul 12, 2011 11:00 am

I tried to do this one the Morrowind page but it wouldn't let me, so ill do it here if that's all right. I was wondering if anyone thinks that Morrowind would ever be re released and updated like Halo 1 is going to be or the Pokemon remakes from last year. Personally I would love to see it come back with Skyrim graphics and game play, maybe if possible re doing the engine for it with some new stuff added into it. Again sorry to the Moderators and Website owners for posting this on the Skyrim pages, but the Morrowind one didn't give me the topic option for some reason. Anyways, stupid question but WHO WANTS A REMAKE OR UPDATED MORROWIND WITH SKYRIM ENGINE!?!?!?!?!?

No. It won't ever happen, and why should it?

I like morrowind how it is, i dont think better graphics and engines would make it any better. New lands are personally the best places to explore with better graphics so we can see never before things

If I wanted to keep buying the same game every year I would get into Call of Duty.

Didn't the modders port morrowind onto Oblivion's engine? I rememeber hearing something about that...

Anyway, if it were done, it would probably be a mod. I'd love for Beth to do it...but it sounds like a daunting task to remake one of these games.

Im merely thinking of this for the newer generation of fans who maybe havent gotten the chance for Morrowind, plus its a discussion merely meant for fun and speculation, so please everyone, no arguing or sarcastic comments please!

I don't see why it couldn't happen. I certainly can't see Bethesda doing, though.

But like OP said, Halo: Combat Evolved is getting revamped (and its getting me pretty excited).

Why would they remake Morrowind and not Arena or Daggerfall? Those two need remakes way more than Morrowind. I'd much rather have a Daggerfall remake if any.

There is a thread about this almost every week, (learn to use the "Search" function) and we always come to the same conclusion... It's not going to happen.

Bethesda is not going to waste time on reformatting an old game like this, and most certainly are not going to spend the massive amount of needed resources/time to redo all the graphics and code.
They still make money from Steam and Impulse sales (for the PC) and the PC modding community has made vast improvements already.

With new tools like MGE, MWSE, and the Code Patch, modders are finding new ways to have fun and to update the graphics/gameplay.
I don't see why Bethesda would spend all the resources making a new version, when the modders have already remade the game on PC. ;)

edit: I should also mention that are currently three separate projects that are re-building the game code from scratch. (OpenMW, Aedra, and Crystal Scrolls)
But they are still years away from being done.

I always said "I would rather have a Morrowind remake with elements from Oblivion, than a new Elder Scrolls". Granted, Skyrim looks awesome, but I would still like a Morrowind remake, so I can finally enjoy it fully.

Ummm, you don't get it, do you?

Modders have ALREADY remade the game!!!!
And Bethesda fully supports the PC version of Morrowind, and PC modders.

Buy it for PC. :)
