Morrowind Sheathing Help

Post » Thu Dec 31, 2009 1:49 am

So i am trying to make a weapon sheathe, and i have the scripts working and everything, but when i equip the sheath model, it is floating about 2x as tall as my character in the air. No matter what i do to the model in nifskope or change the item in the construciton set, it doesn't move. ANY help would be appreciated, thanks! :)

You would have to lower the relative position of the model in a 3D rendering program.
NifSkope can probably do this (but I think you need the skeleton nodes too?) But Blender can do it for sure.

The best way to create a sheathed weapon is via vertex weighting. You need to attach the model to the BB skeleton in Blender or 3DS Max and configure physique. Here's a tutorial explaining that process for 3DS Max: http://www.psychodogstudios.com/betterbodies/vw_tutorial.pdf

i don't understand why i need to do this, i've made plenty of sheathed weapons before without any problem, and without needing to change anything other then in nifskope. I've tried changing it in nifskop with no difference. Is there any way around having to use blender or anything?

Thanks for the help guys :)

These are pictures to explain what i mean. when i move the model in nifskope those white lines move also. i don't know what they are..
