Morrowind Q&A

Post » Fri Jun 22, 2012 8:42 pm

Ok, you ask me a question about any subject in Morrowind, Tribunal, and Bloodmoon. I'll give my best answer to the extent of my knowledge about that particular subject.

The subjects are:

People: Anyone within Vvardenfell, Solstheim, or Mournhold.

Places: Regions, Towns/Forts, Districts in Mournhold, Areas in Solstheim.

Weapons: Swords, Axes, Daggers, Marksman, Halberds, etc.

Factions: Any faction in Morrowind GOTY.

Armor: Any type of armor available in Morrowind GOTY.

Classes: All

Races: All

Note: My answers on Bloodmoon topics may not be extensive, I've only done the main quest a few times.

What would be a good build for lets say..

I want to be able to move very swiftly and jump very high.

I want to be able to wear armor if needed without losing jump ability.

I want to be able to use smaller swords/weapons

I don't like magic unless its for "trick" things like levitate and just all around tricky types of things. I don't exactly know what type of character I'm looking for just need some ideas

Jimmy,

The best i can think of is a Kajhiit, they have a +15 jump ability at start, have a good athletic ability, +5 on short blade and light armor, and if my memory serves me, a +5 illusion ability.

I'm trying to make a character that depends on the ability to flee the scene. Also what types of magics are there that I would call tricky.. meaning

I want magic to trick my opponents or magic to lets say fly away or something like that. I'm seriously confused and cannot come up with a build that I like. It really svcks not knowing enough about the game to make decisions now..

I'd rather not do Khajit since they can't wear helms. Or is unarmored a viable thing later on?

Is this build a good one?

Class-Ninja
Race-Wood elf or Kajit
Specialization- stealth
favorite attributes- Agility, speed
Major skills- Sneak, unarmored (or light armor0, short blade, marksmanship, acrobatics
Minor skills- Mercantile, conjuration, alteration, athletics, security
Sign- Tower, thief, or shadow

That's not bad but you should take either Restoration or Alchemy for healing, you'll need it. Also, Lady sign is best for a new player. The signs you mention have some attractive powers but they're only once a day - not that useful really.

There are illusion magics, you can disappear, alteration, levitate or fly.

You want a sign that benefits you constantly, if you want to move fast, use the steed.

unless you're going to conjure up a buddy to fight for you, yeah.

resto can really turn the tide.

yeah i cant see a ninja using summons to much healing would be handier. plus ninjas loved to carry scrolls around right:)
i say if you were wanting to summon a blade pick up a demon tanto or wakazashi in balmora and keep the healing.
the alteration looks good to keep weight light and walk on water for ninja fights :) i could see a ninja really using scrolls to cover conjuration and destruction though... maby just to many animes...

light armor, if your using melee combat at all you will want some armor, and if you go khajit your sneaking will stay the same as no footgear to effect it :)
no reason not to train unarmored though. i think they stack dont they?

yeah, they stack. If you don't want kajhiit, use wood elf, closest sneak and athletic ability.

people will pick on you, cause your bosmer, and you'll slice their throats while they're sleeping.

What about dark elf? Do I lose too much with that class for what I'm trying to do?

Dark elf is good; high speed and bonus in short blade and marksman.

any of them are playable, certain races do give the best stat boosts for certain things though. i guess it depends on how important the character is visually to you opposed to how they will work out stat wise. i
would say go with the steed on birthsign if speed is important though.

I'm debating on wether or not to do this ninja thing. I know I want to be acrobatic and such but I'm not sure If I want to sneak all over the place.

I see my character as a stand up individual but also very tricky and efficient. I like speed and acrobatics. Short swords with the ability to fly or levitate

Maybe marksman. As for sneaking around I'm not so sure I want to do that seeing as I did it alot in skyrim lately... Any other Ideas based on what I have listed here?

I am making a Khajiit warrior-mage. What armor type and what weapon type should I use? Also help on attributes and suitable skills would do wonders.

have you tried a full mage yet? if you have allready beaten the game a few times and are just looking to shake it up, then try some pure classes like warrior, theif, mage, with the races you never used before.
i never liked bretons and a few weeks ago i made a breton mage and have loved it. im thinking of going khajit theif, or orc warrior.
an interesting combo i liked was bosmer healer. but just try some of the different things and rp them youd be surprised how fun it gets with something you didnt like before.

@Scottish Guy

You either want to use light or medium armor, heavy armor can severely lessen your magicka ability and you get fatigued fast. Crusaders are a tricky class, mostly melee with a little spell casting power, is this what you'd want? Or would you have the reverse, little melee, more magic? For more magic ability, I'd say battlemage. Kajhiit will be difficult, seeing as how they're stealth oriented.

Good luck.

Jimmy,

If you want to get away from stealth classes, why not pick a faction and use their respective races as choices. Like Imperial legion, be an imperial warrior, or mages guild, Altmer mage? Even hlaalu, redoran, and telvanni each have a class you could emulate. Sometimes i find this useful if i don't know what to pick.
