Morrowind.

Is it really entirely gone? If there's fractions of it left. I figured Morrowind still be a place to be because the Nerevarine could slay creatures, get their items and sell it to the merchants of Morrowind making Morrowind a big factor in trade. Like Nerevar would slay beasts, daedra, golden saints and so on, and give those items to the merchants making Morrowind a contender because of really good items and a high number of them. Nerevar's powerful enough and he can always wait for the creatures to reproduce. That is if at least fractions of Morrowind is not burned by volcano fire and lava. So id the whole Morrowind gone?

I wonder why Morrowind was destroyed. I think Bethesda got sick of people saying Morrowind is more interesting and varied than Oblivion.

Anyway, what Lady Nerevar is correct.

Like Lady Nerevar said, everything is still there, except the entire island is covered in several feet of hardened lava and ash, and the water surrounding it is boiling. The island of Vvardenfell of course, not all of Morrowind. Like I've said before, the parts of Morrowind that aren't covered in lava are covered in invading Argonians and Dunmer corpses.

Was there every any indication of another "Sun's Death"? I've not heard of it, but the last time it erupted on such a scale, the ash blocked out the sun.

I don't remember anything in the book that suggests that Tamriel got a lot less bright and a lot more chilly.

Morrowind is still there. Its just in a damaged state. Vvardenfell is where the real damage is.

The Nerevarine was already gone and a landmass is not saved by some old junk brought by an adventurer who wants money in return..... that's just not the way it works.....

The Morrowind will be recovered, just surface damage due to the Red mountain eruption. That's it

Bethesda was planning this for a loooong time. The Loveletter is evidence of this, along with the Sermons.

What? Are you suggesting that the Nerevarine is supposed to get the nation back up again by killing all the creatures in it and selling their soulgems to the merchants (most of whom are dead)?

What we should keep in mind is that the Houses are not going to rebuild and have everything business as usual. I would bet that up to three-quarters of all the Dunmer in Morrowind have been killed, with the rest scattered into a diaspora. (I'll admit that it might not be as high a percentage as that, however.) Even though they will rebuild communities on Solstheim and elsewhere, it will never be the same. However, by the time of TES V (if it is in the works), I wouldn't be surprised if some of the Dunmer have started to trickle back to their ancestral homelands as pioneers.

Some of the forumites have made it sound as if Redoran will just move the bulk of their people to the mainland, but I have the feeling the Dunmer have been so decimated that the House system won't recover. Though come to think of it, there are a couple of Houses mentioned in the "Loveletter", like Sul and Jaroon.

Sul from the book perhaps? That would be interesting.

Eventually, once the magma and ash recedes, the volcanic mineral deposits may help revitalize the land and make the soil incredibly fertile - perhaps too fertile. This may be Bethesda's excuse to turn Morrowind into a generic fantasy forest just like Cyrodiil! :ahhh:

If Red Mountain stops spewing enough ash to create ash storms that any strong wind can stir up.

I doubt it, as it has erupted in the past. Either way, the vegetation will probably be more or less the same, since that's what was there before.

The loveletter not only takes place on Morrowind, but on Vvardenfall. According to it, Kwama miners have survived and made underground cities that will last until the end of the 5th Era (Also when the Kalpa ends, and everybody dies)

Who said that? As far as we know, Hlaalu, Indoril, and Redoran were completley destroyed. Dres was torn apart by angry Argonians, and Telvanni are hiding away at Port Telvannis, waiting out their immortal lives until Morrowind is habitable again.

The ES Novel, The Infernal City. There's plenty of threads and information around here to keep you up to date. Before that, there's the fifth era love-letter as well.

Wait, what happened to Vivec? Is he dead? Last I saw him in Morrowind he seemed fine, maybe a little tired, but he was supporting the ghostgate all by himself almost..

The destruction of Morrowind is actually quite interesting, and I laughed when I found out they decided to destroy Morrowind.
