Morrowind - The video for learning about the storyline

Post » Thu May 03, 2012 5:04 pm

I've attempted to play Morrowind but its not going so well. However I really want to find out the story and lore of Morrowind, so if anyone knows of any good videos describing the story I would very much appreciate it. I was thinking maybe a "Let's play Morrowind" video but right now I'm only finding videos where the player is blind playing and aren't playing much better than I was or seem to be blinding doing other quest that seem non important to the story.

So like I said if anyone knows of any good videos I would appreciate it. Another thing I know a lot of you will probably think I'm stupid for not playing it myself but like I said I svck at the but still love the lore of Elder Scrolls games. At some point I do hope to play all the Elder Scrolls games.

A video??? That likely does not exist... well, I've never seen one that actually does any justice to the politics and complexities of the Morrowind MQ.

You have three options:
1. Read all of this: http://www.imperial-library.info/content/elder-scrolls-iii-morrowind-storyline (at least the Vvardefell Chapter)

or
2. Play the game.

3. or... to put it simply:
You become the http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Nerevarine (or do you really???... That is open to many interpretations among the people in the game, and among the fans of the game)... but in the end you kick Dagoth Ur's butt. (which doesn't really "save the day" because you destroyed the Heart of Lorkhan... which is complicated to explain)

lol... Umm, yeah. I suggest playing the game. Or reading everything about the Lore that you can. Both will take a long time.

I was pretty much new to the Elder Scrolls when I got Morrowind, and I let the game explain everything to me.

I got the zipped version from Caius, his faction descriptions and the first two books in the Main Quest (he gives you one, his contact gives you another one), and then I just kept learning. If you come across a savant, ask about everything. That's what they're there for.

And if all that fails, there's always the http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Morrowind.

Why a video? The story consists of written texts anyway. So a recording of all important scenes from the game would be written dialogue. Seems a lot more of a nuance to read than a simple summary.

Just play the game. If you pick a pre-made class (preferably a combat one) and use only your major and minor skills, you can't svck. Seriously. Even if you do, just reduce the difficulty in the option menu. The game really isn't that hard if you just pay attention to your higher skills and to the dialogue. Read carefully for directions. If that's not your thing, then you probably wont like Morrowind's story anyway, because it can be quite complex as well. I've been playing this game for almost 10 years and the lore and story lines still manage to surprise me.

I would look into Dap642's playthrough. It's very entertaining and helpful.

Thanks for the help. I am planning to play Morrowind again, I did get Vivec and talked to the Argonian there but thats when my computer got a virus and I had to wipe everything. I'll just read some lore for now until I can play the game again like I do plan on doing.

Edit: Another svcky thing is I ordered Morrowind on Xbox a few weeks ago just to find out that the 360 can't even run it anymore.
