Morrowind is too hard for me

Seriously Its really hard to do the main quests and guilds and fractions. When i'm only level 4. Its really hard to level and the only way I do level is by buying training. I need money without cheating or mods. Like can anyone tell me if theres quests I can get money or some helpful things to make money. Its really hard to play when I have no money. I can't even do anything. The main quests are too hard and thief's guild My security is too low and I can't do the thief's guild.
I don't wanna change the difficulty to easy cause its not challenging.Can someone tell me tips and what quest I should do to make money?

iirc someone in ald'ruhn sells amulet of shades. Just buy as many as you can. they are something like 200-250 each. it summons a bonewalker.

if you have at least 3-4 of them.... you can basically fend off a lot of serious bad guys with these guys being pawns/fodder. that should make a lot of the explorations less scary if you have some back up. that way you won't need to fell pressed to level up a lot of the combat skills, but you probably will anyway

The mage guild quests are pretty easy. most of it is going and fetching something. can't say it'll make you rich though...

the generally accepted way of making money is theiving and selling it to creeper in caldera.

well, if you don't want to take advantage of exploits then join guilds... and the more the merrier. I mean, like do the fighters guild quests, mage guild quests, thieves guild quests, the temple, ect; if one is too hard try one of the others and also check other towns as they give different quests in different towns.

When low level the difficulty dramatically increases if you do one sources quests straight through to the end. You can switch around and do the simple first few quests for the guilds, and then come back and find that the next level is a lot easier than before.

Stealing... easy way to make money dishonestly. :)

Creeper in Caldera has 5000 and buys most stuff (just a couple categories he won't buy, such as ingredients).

The alchemist in Balmora has 3000 and is a terrific place to build money.

Once you have a few hundred gold, it's relatively easy to make it a few thousand in several ways. One method is simply to increase the supply of certain ingredients at an alchemist's shop by buying, selling back, buying again, etc, and always shift the haggle amount up and down with each purchase. As you go back and forth (and as your Mercantile increases) you'll get better and better prices both selling back to the alchemist and purchasing from them. Eventually, you can exhaust their cash simply by doind this exchange back and forth (and they'll have a ton of ingredient of that type when you finish).

Personally, I build characters first, but that's also roleplay for me. I adventure once I build a bit.

Your best bet would be to stop doing the main quest and focus more on leveling and gaining money. When I start out with a new character I have a ritual of sorts which I complete.

1. Somewhat complete all quests in seyda neen
2. Get all the glass daggers and sell to creeper.
3. If you have tribunal go to the fighters guild, sleep in the bunk beds facing towards them, the assassins get stuck so you can kill without issue.
4. I capture dreugh souls as well, they're not hard and sell for 3000g I believe

Once you get to about half way through the main quest and you use the creeper to sell your items you can end up with 1,000,000g + (today I reached 1,500,000 on a level 11 character :/)

My last tip (I guess) dont give up. You can play the game through a few times and end up knowing a bunch of tricks to get you money.

O and before I forget theres a Master alchemy set in the Caldera Mages guild tower, you can use it to make potions or sell it.

A few things, two CE rings of restore health is a great thing so you dont need to buy potions or anything.

My personal method:

1. Get the busted glass dagger in Caldera for cheap, repair yourself, sell for four Gs. If you need the money for funding that, steal everything from empty houses and sell to pawnbrokers.
2. Use that money to buy a Chameleon 100% spell for 10s and Invisibility, use the remainder of your funds to buy a potion of Mark and Recall and train your Illusion skill. Mark in front of the Creeper. Ideally you'll have about a one-third success rate at that spell when you run out of funds. Not enough Magicka total to cast it? Shorten the length of the spell or pick the right birth signs when you start over.
3. Steal everything from the Balmora Mage's Guild supply chest- if you do it right behind the wooden post, you're guaranteed not to get caught as nobody's in your line of sight.
4. High-tail it to Ghostgate. If you can pick up an invisibility spell to evade cliff racers, so much the better.
5. There's a room in the Tower of Dusk lower level with a lot of glass in its crates and shelves. Get the guy in the room to face away from your inevitable thievery (they turn to face you for a few seconds when you brush up against them), save, then use save scumming and your ill-gotten Restore Magicka potions to cast that Chameleon 100% on yourself.
6. Steal everything that isn't nailed down, proceed not to care about overencumbrence, recall to the Creeper, sell what you can, drop the rest, rinse, repeat.

If you want a good way to get more money and level up, I recommend going tomb-diving. The trick is to load up on fire spells/weapons, silver weapons, and have an Intervention in case things get a bit too rough. Always save outside the tomb (it could be filled with vampires...) or check the tomb on the wiki to see if you can handle it ( http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Morrowind ).

Potion-making is a great way to make money, and so is hunting cliff racers. Yes they're annoying, but those plumes are worth 20 septims (!!), which is a big deal when you're a low-level and most other monsters drop stuff worth like 5 or 10 septims (I'm looking at you alits, kagouti... For animals most likely to kill you, they drop crap stuff). And look on the bright side-- you're doing a public service for Vvardenfel! Now go out there and do it for the children!!!! :wink_smile:

It really would be great to have your build and what factions you're in. Telling you potion making is worthless if you're running a character with 5 in Alchemy, or telling you to steal when you're sneak is less than 20...


Oh. I should also note that the Morag Tong will net you money. Of course, money is virtually worthless once you reach level 15 or so because you'll find oodles of it in caves and whatnot, but maybe the quests (which essentially come to: Find this guy. Talk to him/taunt him. Kill. Show warrant of execution. Saunter back to the guild for gold. Rinse and repeat.) are worth it at a low level...

It's already been said but alchemy is the best way to go. You almost NEED to have it as a major though if you want to do it right from the beginning.. First thing you do when you get to balmora is go to the mages guild and get the guild quide to teleport you to the caldera guild (it only costs like 10 gold.) Theres a store room with a spiral staricase there. At the top of the stairs there is a Master mortal and pestal, a master calcinator, a master retort and a master alembic. Take them all and use the guild guide to get back to balmora. Find the tribunal temple in balmora. there's a guy on the ground floor who sells stuff to make either restore health potions or restore fatigue potions (I can't remember now probably both) which is very cheap and his stock respawns every time you try to barter with him. Buy as much of each ingredient as you can (keeping them in even amount af course) and use the masters alchemy aparatus to make potions with them. After that go to the alchemist shop (can't remember the name) and sell evey potion you made. You should have made a rediculous profit from this. Your alchemy will most likely have also leveled up several times in the process as well which will not only make you increase in levels but will also make your potions more valuable. You can repeat as many times as needed. Although if you sell to much you will have to wait for the alchemist shop to restock it's money (One ingame day.) If you need cash to start with you can sell the masters alembic to the alchemist shop because alembics only reduces the power of potions with negative affects. If it's not something your used to you should probably just stick to the basic restore health or restore fatigue potions, which have no negative effects anyway.

You absolutely do not need to have it as a minor or major skill to be useful. Alchemy has got to be one of the fastest leveling skills in the game, so just do some experimental potions while you are an alchemy noob without any clue of what matches. If the screen is telling you that your potion will have an effect and that you don't have to make up a name for it by yourself, then start brewing.

The glowing mushrooms of the bitter coast (luminous something and violet something) for instance make a potion that you can sell while training your alchemy by doing so. Bungler's Bane and the green spore plant from the Bitter Coast do the same effect as well, I think.

And then you can always raid the farms of the Ascadian Isles or the coast near Sadrith Mora for Marshmerrow, Salt Rice and Corkbulb Roots. They give Restore Health potions, so there's a good and useful effect at last.


Steal or buy some decent alchemy equipment, and you're ready to create your good potions quite early on. All of this without suddenly being 10 levels further just because you did some alchemy.

When high level is where the action's going on.
But take your time, explore a lot,
Why, think of all the hours you've clocked.
The content's there tomorrow, but your first play through's not.

My apologies to Yosef Islam for mangling his song. Still, I felt like some Cat Stevens, and the sentiment is there. If levelling is too hard, then you're pushing through it too fast. Take some time to explore, look around, level up at you own pace. Morrowind is a slow game, so don't try to rush it.
